TELECARRIER, INC is established in the year 2000 in order to attend to telecommunications needs in Panama and opening of the market in the year 2003. The initial investment was over $40 millions and the shareholders are 100% Panamanians.
In the year 2002, TELECARRIER acquires Cable Data S.A., a company with one of the biggest fiber optics network in the country. Later on that year, TELECARRIER initiates operation of its Data Center, one of the most modern and safest in the region. Then in 2003, TELECARRIER acquires another mayor telecom company, Grupo Alianza Viva.
Through its initial investment and various acquisitions, TELECARRIER is one of the very few companies in Panama that provide full telecommunication services. These services include basic telephony, long distance national and international, Internet services, transmission and storage of data. The company has become on of the largest Internet Service Providers (ISP) in Panama, handling more than 60% of local Internet traffic.
Since the end of the year 2002, TELECARRIER’s Data Center hosts more than eighty clients from various industries (financial, commercial, services, legal) and different regions of the world (America, Europe and Asia). Our Data Center hosts contingency and replication solutions, primary sites and even complete system solutions of our clients.
TELECARRIER’s main shareholders represent the most important and major companies in Panama. The shareholders include:

Grupo Motta: This group manages and/or controls major companies like COPA Airlines, Banco Continental, TVN, ASSA Compañía de Seguros, Motta Internacional, Felipe Motta, and others.

MHC Holdings: This group was one of the owners of BSC Panama (Bellsouth) which was sold to Telefonica Movistar recently. They still manage many important real state corporations.

Empresa General de Inversiones: This group includes Banco General and Petróleos Delta.
