Sviloza Joint Stock Company was built as a chemical works during the period 1966-1976 and still more 25 years successfully realizes its strategic purposes for effective service and full covering of the customers demand. GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION AND INTERNAL INFRASTRUCTURE:
"SVILOSA" is located 3.5 km North - West from Svishtov. On North it stretches along the Danube River - natural source of technological waters. Geographic location is favorable in regard delivering of raw and materials.
The characteristics of well-developed internal infrastructure are as follows:
- The Company disposes of its own river port on the Danube River, which gives the option for effective carrying out of transport and shipping operations of raw materials and final products.
- The Company disposes of its own railway networking and railway station furnished with equipment necessary for carrying out of the loading unloading operations.
- Direct links through road and railroad transport to the industry centers of the country and also to the Near East, Middle East and Europe countries.

PRODUCTS
VISCOSE FILAMENT RAYON YARN
Svilosa produces white lustrous, colored and dull viscose rayon that is applicable in the textile and knitwear industry.
The trading policy of the company concerning the above product is oriented to export mainly to Expanded Europe, Near East and Far East. In order to meet the increased marketing and environmental requirements of quality, the viscose rayon produced is certified according to OKO-TEX Standard 100.
On the ground of its principles of direct contact with its customers at full satisfying of their requirements through ensuring a high quality and prompt service, the Company suggests its product in a great variety of assortments and brands:

The viscose rayon produced possesses properties, which make it closely to natural fibers. This fact makes it to be preferred for independent use and use in composition with other fibers.
SULPHATE PULP
Svilosa Co is the only producer of the sulphate
bleached hard wood pulp in Bulgaria and it is also
the biggest producer in the Balkan Peninsula. |
The producing capacity of 50 000 t/ yearly is nearly entirely oriented to export through ensuring of the long range and stable presence in the strategic markets of high import capacity and economical stability.
The sulphate pulp is offered under registered trademark SVILOCELL of the following assortments:
Beech flash-dried
Beech sheeted
Poplar flash-dried
Poplar sheeted
The technical specifications of the hardwood pulp make it preferred in the paper making industry purposing improvement of the paper structure and creating of the preconditions for even appearance of the paper and conditions for good printing.
The pulp produced by Svilosa ECF bleached pulp finds its application in paper making industry as per writing and printing papers, copy papers, pigment covered papers, surface treated papers; corrugated cardboard with covering layer; facing layer of the cardboard etc.
CARBOXY METHYL CELLULOSE
Within the sulphate pulp mill there is included also a capacity of producing of carboxymethylcellulose - wallpaper glue. The technical characteristics of this product make it applicable to building industry, and also as an addition to glue and soap powder manufacturing.
WOOD BRIQUETTES
During 2000 it was put into service an installation for producing wood briquettes that are applicable to home heating systems, environmentally sustainable steam-heating boilers, fireplaces etc.
ECOLOGY
SVILOSA Co. is proud to begin the new millennium getting a high international appraisal - obtaining the OKO-TEX Certificate Standard 100.
As company which philosophy stress the effective service to its customers all over the world, SVILOSA Co. seeks to support the environment through the quality of its production.
In regard to this a new technology of oxygen bleaching at the production of sulphate-bleached pulp, which eliminates the use of elementary chlorine is implemented in the pulp mill. The introduced technology is accepted in the European Union countries as the Best Available Techniques (BAT) for the production concerning the reduction of emissions of environmental harmful substances.
In conformity with the ecological policy of the company an installation for producing wood briquettes was introduced. The main purpose of this innovation was the production of energy from reproducible energy resources as wood waste from pulp production.
