Vega sh.p.k. is a private company and was established by Aleksander Gavoci, in August 1999. Our activities were modest in the first year and were limited to construction, building and private property development. Now, approximately 10 years from our establishment, Vega's endeavors have spread from Tirana, to Durres, Lac, as well as Shkodra. Vega also has representative offices in Turkey and in China. It is not only geographic expansion that have made us successful, but also, the diversification of our business activities. Today, in addition to our construction projects in Tirana and other parts of Albania, Vega is well known as a powerful player in the Albanian markets for import/export, concrete & gravel production, as well as in shipping and materials transportation. Our short and long terms business strategies have been truly bold and innovative.
VEGA's MISSION
VEGA's mission has not changed from the first day that Vega was established. We make dreams come true. Our 10 years of experience have shown us that all the things that we considered dreams in our beginning, we call projects today. Our mission has been, and will be in the future, the continuous investment in the area of construction and to provide high quality construction materials in Albania. We want to make our modest contribution to the growth of exports in Albania. Our goal it is not only to increase our profits, but also to invest in the economic development and progress of our country. In addition, our goal has been, and will continue to be, to develop mutually beneficial relationships with our partners.
A SHORT HISTORY
Vega was established in August, 1999, as a private construction company. The company diversified from construction into the concrete production sector in November, 2002 with the establishment of Shkodra Beton sh.p.k., another private company. At the outset, Shkodra Beton's production capacity was modest and only fulfilled Vega's construction needs. Today, Shkodra Beton produces about 100,000 m3 of concrete per year and the factory's capacity is 120 m3/h.
In 2003, Vega was closely managed by our president, Alexsander Gavoici, who decided it was time to diversify again, this time into the production of inert stone (gravel). This new investment was consistent with our mission and company strategy. After studying Albanian geography, we came to the conclusion to invest in the building of a new quarry in Kruja. Our plan included a strategy to minimize the discharge of corrosive materials into the local rivers and to preserve the national environment. The work began in 2003 and on March of 2005, we established Shkodra - Inert.Ā Two years and over 3.5 million USD were needed to complete this ambitious project.Today, Shkodra Inert sh.p.k produces 98.000 m2of gravel with an inert materials processing capacity of 400 m3/h.
It is worth mentioning that to maintain all our motorized vehicles, we have built a modern garage that is inside the complex of Shkodra Beton. It is called OLALBA sh.p.k and its primary function is to respond quickly to any repair needs of our vehicles and to provide standard maintenance to our substantial fleet of trucks and equipment. Ā Olalba's staff facilitates our logistical services and we are very pleased with their exceptional performance. It is their excellent work that insures that our trucks, and therefore our deliveries to our clients, never stop.
How much has Vega's business expanded in the last 10 years...?
We continue to build industrial and residential projects, not only in capitol of Tirana, but and in other cities such as Durres and Laē. We were the first to dare, and we remain the only company, to develop a serious industrial project in the center of Laē. Others saw this investment as strange in the beginning, but we told them that our mission is not only for profit. We truly want to improve the infrastructure and economy of our country.
Vega owns 2 ships called the Drini and the Vega, with capacities of 1,800 tons and 2,700 tons, respectively. With these ships, we are fully capable of meeting your, and all our clients', shipping needs. Vega imports construction iron with the European standard of DIN 488 BST 500S. Vega has the exclusive shipping rights awarded by our partner in Turkey, Izmir Demir Ēelik Sanayl a.s. Another important part of Vega's shipping business is the import/export of scrap metal. Vega plans to extend its capability in the shipping area to include Trans Ocean Shipping. For this reason Vega, has invested heavily in the purchase of 3 ships with capacities of 5,500 tons that will arrive in December of this year.
It is our commitment to this business that has made it possible for the Durrės and Shėngjin Port Authority to make us partners in their shipping systems, entrusting us with 400.000 tons of shipping per year.

Year 2001-2003 Building with 12 floors + 1 floor underground, parking at Rruga "Sami Frasheri", Tiranė , with 10,400m2 of surface area. It is an inherited estate of Mrs president Aleksander Gavoci Investor and developer.

Year 2005-2006 We designed and built an industrial center and exhibition facility for construction materials in Laē with 2 floors + 1 floor underground with 2,500 m2 of surface area. Developer and designer is "VEGA" shpk.
Year 2005 We were partners with "EUROALBA" sh.p.k., in building the new main structure of the "NENE TEREZA" airport.
Year 2005 - 2007 We built an industrial center for storing and processing seafood in Durres with 2 floors + 1 floor underground with 6,500 m2 of surface area. Investor "KORAL" sh.p.k company. Developer "VEGA" sh.p.k.

It was established in August, 2005.

We have updated our infrastructure, and our facility includes, in addition to production equipment, offiices warehouses, and our internal road system.

Our Projects for the future short & long - term investments
Construction area:
Building in the Durres beach area, a continuation of the Apollonia Complex. We are currently in the application phase. The work has begun
We are building a project at Rruga "Muhamet Gjollesha", Tiranė. We are in design phase
We building a trade center in Laprake, Tiranė. We are supervising the design phase.
We building a touristic village in Dajt, Tiranė. We are in the design phase.
Construction in the beach area of Vlorė. We are currently considering various offers and proposals for the development of this project.
Other business areas:
Our most ambitious project is to build a large sheet metal factory in Laē, Albania. Plant design and production equipment is being provided by one of the world's leading sheet metal companies. Vega has finalized the land purchase contract and has began the work for system and infrastructure construction. The new company has been registered with the Q.K.R under the name "AL-ĒELIK-VEGA". The new factory will cover 38,300 m2 of surface area. The administrative structure has been prepared and the staff is currently in training. Its production capacity will be 380,000 tons per year. It's production will cover not only a large part of the needs of Albania, but will also be a major provider of sheet metal in the region. The new company has obtained all the necessary permits to begin construction. This ambitious project has found major, high level support from the Albanian government, including the prime minister. We are proud to have put together this kind of investment, about 72 million euro, and that the project will be totally funded from Albanian sources.
As part of another major investment, we are in process of buying 3 ships, each with 5,500 tons of capacity. The contract is signed, and prepayment has been done according to the terms of the contract. We have opened a supervisory office near the construction yard in China. We expect the ships will be delivered in December 2009. This investment will provide Vega with another 300,000 tons per year of shipping capacity.
As a result of our ten years of high quality work, we have been a stable and valuable partner to more than 82 serious companies that operate in the construction business in Albania.
We are member on same trade chamber in Albania. We were awarded the BEST BUSINESS 2008 IN ALBANIA prize, selected from 370 Albanian and foreign businesses that are operate in Albania. We accepted this award in the House of Lords, London.
