Brief History of UNPAR
Founded on January 17th 1955 as and Academy of Commerce by the Bishop of Bandung Diocese and the Bishop of Bogor Diocese (Mgr. Arntz OSC and Mgr. Geise OFM), Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) is one of the oldest private catholic university in Indonesia
It has three campuses in Bandung City, one in Jalan Ciumbuleuit 94 wich is the main campus, one in Jalan Merdeka 30 which serves for graduate programs and on in Jalan Nias 2 where you can find the Faculty of Philosophy.

• A very good academic atmosphere with harmony and peace between multicultures and religions
• Facilities such as: fully furnished library (hardcopy as well as electronics), Free internet and sport facilities for students
• Fully supported Lecturers to study doctor degree inside as well as outside Indonesia, fully supported to disseminate their research results in journals, seminars etc. inside and outside Indonesia, supported to do post doctoral research at overseas universities for a maximum of two semesters
UNPAR lecturers rewards:
• four winners of ‘Best Lecturer of West Jawa Province’ (2004, 2006, 2007, 2008)
• two winners of 25 Years APTIK Anniversary (1st and 3rd)
• two finalist of ‘Best Australian Alumnae’ (2007, 2008)
The univesity has 35 student activity units to offer, also called UKM (‘unit kegiatan mahasiswa’) for extra curricular activites, some of them prominent for their many years international achievements suchas:

The current projects and main developments:
UNPAR is internationalizing certain undergraduate programs, starting with International Relations Program. Currently there are two prominent professors teaching in International Relations Program:
• Prof Colin Brown PhD (Curtin University, Australia)
• Prof Bradley Simpson PhD (from USA, AMINEF aid)
UNPAR has accreditations from international institutions for certain undergraduate programs.
It has double-degree programs for some of UNPAR programs (undergraduate, graduate and post graduate programs).
It is opening english classes in certain under graduate programs.
Currently UNPAR is designing to build up a center for humanities trainings for students, lecturers and staffs, located outside main campus.
In keeping with UNPAR 2020 Vision, currently it is planning a long term target to build a second campus fulfilling international standards, and it is opening new faculties and more international programs
