About UNIKOM
Indonesia Computer University (UNIKOM) was established officially on Tuesday, 8 August 2000 based on the decree of Minister of National Education number 126/D/0/2000.
In its early establishment in July 1994, it was named Lembaga Pendidikan Komputer Indonesia Jerman (LPKIG) and was located on Jl. Dipati Ukur 102 Bandung. It had one class accommodating 50 students and one computer laboratory consisted of 25 computers.
In the second year, 1995, this institution held three year education program to serve the first year student’s enthusiasm who wanted to broaden their knowledge, other than the long term program to improve the institution.
Highlighted the dynamic enthusiasm of the students and the future institutional improvement as well, this institution established Yayasan Science dan Teknology after which the establishment proposal of STMIK IGI and STIE IGI was submitted to DIKTI (Higher Education Directorate).
On July 1999, STIE IGI with its five course programs was officially established by the decree of National Education Minister no. 119/D/O/1999. The programs were: Accountancy S1, Management S1, Marketing Management D3, Banking and Finance D3, and Accountancy D3.
On August 1999, The Minister of National Education with its decree no. 143/D/O/1999 officially anounced the founding of STIMIK IGI with five course programs: Informatics Engineering S1, Informatics Management D3, Computer Engineering D3, Accountancy Computerization D3, and Informatics Engineering D3.
On Tuesday, August 8th 2000, through the decree no, 126/D/O/2000, the Minister of National Education anounced officially the founding of Indonesia Computer University, abriviated UNIKOM as a merged of two colleges STMIK IGI and STIE IGI. Since its establishment in 2000, UNIKOM admits 2000 new students annually. And since 2007, the students admitted were 3000.
To the academic year 2008/2009, UNIKOM has six faculties and 23 course programs with 15.000 students originated from various regions.
Unikom may very young but we have already marked our achievements, including being the only private University in Indonesia that succeeded in achieving the gold medal at the International University Robotic Championship 2009 at 6th Annual Robogames, Sanfransisco USA. We also won 1st and 3rd place for the National Indonesia Smart Robots Competition at ITS, 1st place for National KRCI 2009, and in KRCI regional competition won 3 categories 1st place. When 2008 KRCI regional won 1st place for 5 categories, 1st place for National Legged Robot Contest and 2nd place for National Wheeled Robot Contest, 2nd place for National ICT Contest of student category 2007, and the 2nd best University for Information Technology Website 2005 among all Universities in Indonesia. The Study Program accredited good and another program accredited ‘A’. Unikom has established cooperation with four overseas Universities, namely : University of Selangor, University of Multimedia Malaysia, University Kebangsaan Malaysia and University of North Malaysia. UNIKOM becoming a place for Telematics Competence Test, 1st winner of Student Writing Competition Kopertis IV for 2005 and 2006. 1st winner of Student Computer Business Application Programming Contest 2006, 1st winner National University Student Visual Communication Design Contest 2006, 1st winner Supply Chain Management Computer Application National University Student Competition.
The very positive indicator thing is that when many private universities in West Java suffered degradation of new student enrollment to become a freshmen, Unikom remained uneffected and maintained it at previous level of enrollment.

Graduation of faculty of engineering & computer science are mastering technical science and also skillful, professional and expert in IT & E-commerce field, capable to design, stimulate and overcoming technical problem by using modern computerization system
Informatics Engineering is aimed to produce professionals who are expert in Computer Software Engineering, Computer Network System, Data Bases System, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Application Programs which are very required by Modern Industry, Governance and other Private Sector areas.
Computer Engineering is aimed to produce professionals who are expert in Computer Hardware Engineering area, Digital Network of Computer, Microprocessor, Electronics, Conductor Engineering and Hardware Application Programs which are very required by Modern Industry, Governance and other Private company.
Informatics Management is aimed to produce professionals who are expert in combining Management Science with Informatics Science, especially Expert in the field of Engineering, Management and Application of Information & Computer System, System of Decision Supporting and Data Bases System.
Industrial Engineering is aimed to produce graduation possessing expertise in Operation, Design and Human Integral System Application, Machine, Material, Information and Working Method in Industrial area, Private Company and Governance
Electrical Engineering is aimed to produce professional graduations possessing expertise in Operation, Design and Applications of Electronics area, Telecommunications and Computer System in order to be applicable in the Government Institution, Private sector, Manufactures Industrial of and other Service Industries
Civil Engineering is aimed to produce graduation possessing expertise in the area of Structure Engineering and Construction Management, and Construction Management, Hydro technical, Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering in accordance to Recent Technology Development in the Civil Engineering field.
Architecture Engineering is aimed to produce Professional Graduations possessing expertise in Architecture Engineering, Structure and Building Constructions, Environmentally, Housing and Settlement Arrangement
Regional and City Planning is aimed to produce Professional Graduations possessing expertise in the Arrangement of City Area, Regional Area and Settlement Location that integrated physically, socially, economically, politically and culturally.
Computerized Accounting is aimed to produce Middle Expert Degree, who has capability to apply Computer Technology and Accounting Science in the field of Accounting Information System and Accounting Auditing System (checking).

Graduation of faculty of design are mastering Arts and Design sciences and also skillful, professional and expert in IT field, having capability in making, designing, and computer application to produce high qualified masterpiece.
Bachelor Degree of Visual Communication Design (Graphic Design) is prepared as Professional Graphic Designer, Art Director, Multi Media Production, Illustrator, Advertisement, Graphic Environmental, Photographers or Film Artistic
Bachelor Degree of Interior Design is prepared as Interior Design Expert, Architect Bureau (Hotel, Building, Office, House, etc), Design Consultant, Set Decorate, Furniture Designer or Design Interior Entrepreneur.
Middle Expert Degree of Graphic Design is prepared as professionals in Graphic Design field, having ability in processing creative process in various company, industry, office, Graphic studio and Printed Media.

Undergradute Programs Admission Procedures:
- Graduated from senior highschool / vocational, any major areas of studies.
- 2 certified copies of all academic transcript
- 1 copy of ID Card (KTP) or Passport with at least 2 years validity
- 2 of 3x4 cm and 2x3 cm sized recent photographs
- Not color blind (Graphic Design, Interior Design, Electrical Engineering)
