Background
Geodrill Ghana Limited commenced operations in Ghana in September 1998. It is a subsidiary of Geodrill Limited.
The company has built an enviable reputation of providing reverse circulation and diamond core drilling services using UDR multi-purpose drill rigs, specializing in deep directional drilling. This reputation is built
on the careful selection of safety and service orientated drilling personnel and the attention to keeping a modern, well maintained fleet of drill rigs.

Dave Harper has twenty-three (23) years experience in the Drilling Industry, twenty (20) of those years in management and sixteen (16) of those in Ghana and West Africa.
Terry Burling (Operations Manager)
Terry Burling has nineteen (19) years experience in the Drilling Industry, fifteen (15) of those years in Ghana and West Africa.
Greg Conroy (Finance & Admin Manager).
Greg Conroy is a CPA with thirty-five (35) years experience, fifteen (15) of those years in Africa and ten (10) years in Drilling Mining.

Services
Geodrill provides Reverse Circulation and Core Drilling services. The object of all prospective drilling is to get samples from different depths below the surface. The two basic methods are CUTTINGS recovery, and CORE recovery. RC (Reverse Circulation) falls in the first category and Core Drilling in the second.
Core drilling
Core drilling is a system that drills and collects a core (cylindrical) sample in the state it is found, i.e. in-situ. The system known as wireline coring is used, ie a diamond impregnated (hollow) core bit is used which cuts until the core barrel is full. Drilling Mud / Cutting oil cools/lubricates bit and acts as medium for lifting cuttings to surface.

Reverse circulation
Reverse Circulation (RC) is the method of choice for obtaining consistently high quality rock chip samples with speed and efficiency. Geodrill provides RC drilling using the latest Face Sampling hammers & equipment drilling holes with 140mm dia. to depths of between 50 - 400 meters.
Directional drilling
Geodrill provides the Deep Directional drilling using DHM (Down Hole Motor) and wedging:
To control deviation so target is achieved
To intersect targets below inaccessible locations
To alter course of a drill hole to intersect target
To allow multiple target intersections by deviating branch holes from a parent hole.
Drill rigs & boosters
Geodrill operates a fleet of multi-purpose drill rigs comprised of UDR900 and UDR650. These rigs are self-contained with their own on-board Atlas Copco compressors and include side-mounted rod racks for easy loading of RC drill rods.
The company also operates a fleet of UDR200 crawler-mounted core only drill rigs; and Austex 150 truck-mounted Aircore rigs.
Geodrill operates a wide variety of support vehicles. Its substantial fleet of Toyota Landcruiser 4x4 pick-ups, MAN trucks 8x8, 8x6, 6x6, 6x4 and 4x4, and numerous other trucks, purpose-built crawler-mounted support vehicles, and 4x4 Bell Tractors assists with smooth drilling operations 24/7 and allows workers to do their job safely in steep terrain, without delay.
The company also operates 2 x MAN prime mover truck and Low Loader trailer for mobilizing the drilling rigs & support equipment between work sites as a single event.

Georill operates a fleet of (8) eight UDR 900 drill rigs.

UDR 650 Multi-Purpose Drill Rigs
Geodrill operates two (2) UDR650 multi-purpose drill rigs.
UDR650-1 multi-purpose exploration drill rig is crawler-mounted and has on-board Atlas Copco compressor and booster and was built in 1996.
UDR650-2 is a truck-mounted multi-purpose exploration drill rig, with on-board Atlas Copco and was bulit in 2003.

Boosters & Auxiliary Compressors
Geodrill's fleet of drill rigs and support equipment incorporates a fleet of Air Research Boosters and Auxiliary Compressors which enable us to drill Reverse Circulation (RC) Deeeper, Drier, and Faster.
All our crawler-mounted multi-purpose rigs have their own on-board compressor boosters. This provides a safer work place for our employees, and minimizes our foot print in environmentally sensitive locations and provides.
Auxilliary Compressors are usually truck or crawler mounted, depending on the application.
UDR 200 Drill Rigs
Geodrill also operates core rigs, UDR 200, which is focused on infill drilling and short holes.

Maintenance
Geodrill's site workshop at Anwia Nkwanta is fitted out with a full range of drilling consumables and rigs spare parts for engines, hydraulics and compressors.
Also included in the facility is a machining shop with CNC lathe facilities as well as mechanical / boiler making shop.

Essential to our drilling operations, Geodrill has a dozen rod carriers which aids tremendously in drilling, considering time and efficiency.

Training
Geodrill has a fully furnished training centre studded with state of the art IT equipment. The extensive program helps to train new staff and retrain existing staff in both existing and evolving safety procedures / practices and also new advancements in the drilling sector.
Continuous retraining has made Geodrill's safety standard highly improved and this is seen in all the sites that we work.
