Background

Futune Nigeria Limited was incorporated in 1991 as a private indigenous, limited liability company under the Companies and Allied Matters Decree, 1990. Its head office is located in Abuja with branches in Maiduguri and Kano.

The Company, which carries on business as a Turnkey Contractor, undertakes comprehensive architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and engineering designs, building contracts, supplies of building materials, and engages in the construction of houses, offices, roads, bridges, schools, recreation centers, stadia, hotels, water storage facilities and dams. It also offers renovation or maintenance services, and the supply and delivery of all materials connected to the aforementioned projects.

It was also established to carry on the business of interior and exterior decoration, and to engage in the business of putting and fixing fixtures, carrying out partitioning works whether with wood, aluminum or glass, furnishing of residential and office accommodations, rendering plumbing and electrical services.

In addition, the Company is into real estate development and services such as selling, buying or leasing suitable estates on behalf of clients, facilitating mortgage transactions with banks for the purposes of servicing loans for clients on the security of their estate, making of surveys and providing any other real estate services.

The Company operates within a broad legal framework which allows it to carry out anything necessary for the purposes of achieving its objectives in line with the provisions of the Decree.

Structure

Futune Nigeria Limited is a well-organized, responsible corporate citizen. It has a three member Board of Directors, whose main functions include the formulation of policy guidelines and the provision of an enabling environment for the actualization of the company’s set objectives. As a body of professionals in different but relevant fields, the Board closely monitors the general operations of the Company and undertakes a periodic review of its policies in line with its achievements and observed constraints.

Management Team

Baba Gana Ali Alkali (Architect)- Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer

Architect Baba Gana Ali Alkali graduated in 1987 form Kaduna Polytechnic, Nigeria, with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in architecture. Before then he obtained a National Diploma in architecture from Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri. He is an experienced architect with Sheltarc Associates, Maidurugi (1984-85), after which he served (N.Y.S.C) as architect with Kay-Tee Associates Consultants (Architects, Engineers and Planners) Kano, Hamada design consultant Maiduguri before he spearheaded the incorporation of Futune in 1990.

Abubakar Shettima Pindar (Architect)

Abubakar Shettima Pindar obtained a National Diploma in architecture in 1984 and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in 1988 from Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, and Kaduna Polytechnical, respectively. Before his present appointment with the company, he worked with the Ministry of Works and Housing, Maiduguri (1984), Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, Nigerian Army Engineering Corps, Sobi Barracks, Ilorin, and ultimate design consortium, Surulere, Lagos. In addition, he was head of Physical Unit and assistant head of department, Ramat polytechnic, Maiduguri; member, planning committee, Yobe State land/distribution, Damaturu.

Yusuf Baba Ibrahim (Architect)

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in architecture from the University of Jos, Nigeria (1990-97). As a student he worked on attachment with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Abuja and a private architectural firm, Nomad Associates, Kano between 1992 and 1994. He served (N.Y.S.C) with another private architectural outfit, Architectomi Consult, in Abeokuta, Nigeria, between 1997 and 1998, and is a registered member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.

Jibrin Barma (Architect)

After obtaining a National Diploma in architecture from Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, in 1991, Jibrin Barma proceeded to study at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, (A.T.B.U.), Bauchi, where he was awarded a Master of Science in architecture in 1988. While in school, he went on industrial attachment with a number of architectural firms in Maiduguri such as Sheltarc Associates, Hamada Design Consultants and Kanem Design Consultants. Before he took up his present appointment with the Company, he was instructor, Borno State Agency for Mass Literacy, Maiduguri, and architect I, Federal Housing Authority, Abuja. He is a graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.

Abdulkadir Maikudi Muhammed (Architect)

A graduate of Kaduna Polytechnic, Nigeria, the officer holds a Higher Diploma (Architect). Before he took up an appointment as site manager with the company, he was Deputy Head of Works, Fika/Fune local government, Yobe State (1990-92). Between 1992 and 1997, he was Higher Technical Office (H.T.O.) (Architecture) in the Yobe State Ministry of Works and Housing, Damaturu. He was also General Manager, Baba Shettima Investment, Tokumbo Street, Lagos.

Kalli Mallam Baba (Civil Engineering)

An experienced Civil Engineer, Kalli Mallam Baba studied at the Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, Nigeria, from where he obtained a National Diploma (1982-84) in Civil Engineering. He also obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering from the same institution between 1986 and 1988 until his appointment. He held a number of positions in the Borno State Civil Service. He was among others: Technical Officer, Senior Technical Officer and Principal Officer at different times at the Borno State Agricultural Development Programme (BOSADP), Maiduguri. His duties included organizing the implementation of feeder roads construction, design of roads (including drainage), water disposals and water course crossing. He also analyzed field data on construction materials and coordinating and supervising all road works.

Gbenga Joshua Fagbohungbe (Civil Engineer)

Holder of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Civil Engineering (1987), he has enormous field experience and was involved in the design and supervision of many projects in Nigeria (1989). They included the faculty of science complex, Cross-River State University, the Anong-Ediba-Usumatung-Igorigori Road, Cross-River State, and the Ikot-Ekpene-Abakete trunk road, Akwa-Ibom State. He was Project Engineer and Project Manager (1989-96) on numerous projects such as the Gongola State multi-million naira secretariat, Yola, Nigerian Agricultural and cooperative bank branches at Jos, Bauchi, Yola and Maiduguri, Governor’s residence, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and Deputy-Governor’s residence of the same bank among others.

Engineer Fabohungbe is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Nigerian Institute of Structural Engineers (NISE) and the Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
