The Company

NETCO is National Engineering technical Company and it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nigerian national petroleum corporation established in February 1989 to fulfill NNPC strategic vision of developing in-country oil & gas engineering capability.

NETCO was established as an NNPC/BECHTEL JV on a 60%/40% Shareholding. In December 1996 Bechtel withdrew from the JV and in May 1997 NNPC bought Bechtel’s Share and NETCO became 100% wholly owned NNPC strategic Business Unit (SBU).

NETCO is the FIRST ISO certified Engineering Company in Nigeria.

As a key player in the implementation of the Nigerian Content Policy, NETCO has been pursuing the domestication of engineering capability in Nigeria’s Oil & Gas industry through indigenous participation in the upstream sector of Nigeria’s Oil & Gas industry. NETCO has taken its support for the local content to a new level by integrating engineers from other Nigerian engineering companies into its project teams.

NETCO has developed and implemented a quality management system to enhance customer’s satisfaction and improve management of company.

The Quality system complies with the International Standard ISO 9000:2000. 

The Resources

Manpower

NETCO currently carry a workforce of about 372 educated and experienced Nigerian, out of which 200 are engineers of various disciplines. The remaining balance is made up of Management Staff, Services personnel and Trainee Graduates.

  • NETCO has more than 400 computers (desktops and laptops), and peripherals devices (laser printers, plotters, scanners and plan printers) majority of which are fully networked in mixed Domain, multiple platform environment
  • 450 Computer workstations supported by Local Area Network (LAN)
  • INTERNET Access via C-band Satellite link and STAFF/CLIENT E-mail Access
  • VOICE NETWORK – IP telephone system integrated into the LAN system
