Banca Romaneasca was created 17 years ago and now has 151 branches, out of which 40 are located in Bucharest. In October 2003, the National Bank of Greece (NBG) Group bought the majority package at Banca Romaneasca, having now 89,070% of its share capital. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is also another important shareholder, having 10,209% of the bank's share capital.
