PROFILE

The Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) is a three-storey edifice of outstanding architectural beauty.

Built in 1991 to host the Tenth Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, the AICC has since become the biggest host of conferences in Ghana and one of the leading conference centres in Africa.

To date, the Centre has hosted more than 300 national and international conferences, notably ECOWAS Summits and Ministerial Meetings, UN Seminars and Conferences etc.

It has also hosted several presidents and prominent personalities in government and business.

THE CENTER

Accra International Conference Centre

The AICC is located on the Castle Road and lies north of the Accra Sports Stadium in downtown Accra.

It is a multi-purpose conference center capable of seating 2,166 people.

Its surroundings, too, have been landscaped with ornamental flowers, green grass and shady trees, thus making the scenery around the center picturesque.

FACILITIES

The AICC has facilities for meetings of 34,54,208 and up to 1,608 delegates. There are six conference halls in the center, namely the Main Hall or Conference Auditorium, two Committee Halls and three Meeting Rooms. There is also a Press Center.



Main Hall

The arrangement inn the main auditorium provides seating for 954-1000 people. In the balcony, 132 seats serve the public while 182 have been reserved for the press. The hall also provides full audio facilities for simultaneous translation in five languages.
Main Hall- Multi-Purpose Use

When converted for multi-purpose use such as foe musical shows, concerts, lectures etc., the Main Auditorium can seat 1,608 people, of which the ground floor takes 1,294 and the balcony 314. It has the necessary facilities and equipment that enable the perfect organization of public events, cinema and theatre performances, musical shows, concerts, lectures etc.

COMMITTEE HALLS

On the ground floor, there are two meeting rooms with 34 and 54 seats respectively, and a third Meeting Room on the first floor also capable of seating 54 people.

PRESS CENTER

A completely separate entrance and circulation system is provided for the press, with connections to all parts of the complex.

At ground level is located the reception and information desk, as well as the VIP interview room where journalists get their media material and information. Located on the first floor, the Press Center has modern facilities for 80 journalists.

It consists of a modern flexible working area complete with telex and fax machine, telephone lines, as well as post office service with card phone booths.

Access to this level is via a different staircase and lift system. On the second floor is the press snack bar, a 36-seat briefing room and TV monitor room.

From the press gallery foyer, there is an entrance to the main Auditorium balcony where the last two rows of 182 seats are reserved for journalists.



OTHER FACILITIES

The public areas surround the Main auditorium. Opening off into the public area at ground are a duty-free shop, two service bars, a bank and a clinic.

The Diplomatic Restaurant is a restaurant located on the Second Floor of the building.

As Ghana’s foremost conference center, the AICC offers the ideal setting and facilities for your conferences and public performances for a long time to come.
