| SURFACE PREPARATION AND PAINT FINISH |
This is the most important part of our manufacturing process, equipped with a modern state of the art fully automatic pre-treatment line and powder coating system, Power Technics is able to offer very high quality finish to international standards.
| PRE-TREATMENT |
Quality surface preparations are the base for quality paint finish. All the sheet steel items are degreased using a chemical process with Iron Phosphate. The temperature of the bath using these chemicals is 70oC. The items pass through several jets of high-pressure system at 1.5 Bars followed by spray of iron phosphate. These are then rinsed in line with two stages of clean water.
The final stage of the cleaning process is spray
of de-ionized water to stabilize the phosphate film
and neutralize all the charges on the metal surface.
The items passes first through a set of oven to
dry the water at 100o C. |
| POWDER COATING |
The items to be painted are coated with powder using automatic reciprocators to maintain even film thickness. The system of powder coating used is 'TRIBO'. The items are then cured in the oven at 160o C - 180o C for 15 minutes. An even film thickness of 90-100 microns is achieved for the range of products. Superior paint finish is achieved due to correct pre-treatment and technology for powder coating.
| ENGINEERING AND DESIGN |
A comprehensive engineering and design facility is available at Power Technics. Systems are developed to suit the specific needs of the clients. These vary from design of switch gear/control gear, lighting systems and illumination engineering. In close cooperation with consultants and architects, Power Technics provides the skills and expertise of a wide range of products. With in-house design software and support from the principals, Power Technics provides a complete solution to complex problems, as a one stop "solution provider".
| TRAINING |
A fully equipped training facility is available at Power Technics. The facility is within the showroom and it provides a perfect atmosphere for a comprehensive technical seminar on product training. In-house sessions for quality control and product training are conducted regularly. On occasions, experts from all our principals conduct seminars for all our clients.
| SWITCH GEARS |
Power Technics is the official distributor for Groupe Schneider of France, which includes such renowned brand names as Telemecanique, Merlin Gerin, Square D, Modicon, Normabarre and Rectiphase. Power Technics distributes the products from the range and incorporates them into locally-manufactured low voltage switchboards, motor control panels, power factor correction banks, automation panels and distribution boards. These products manufactured by Power Technics have been awarded the 'Diamond Mark of Quality' by the Kenya Bureau of Standards.
Medium voltage switchgears are imported and Power Technics provides technical support, installation assistance and commissioning.

Power Technics specializes in the PLC, variable speed drives, soft starters contractors, and related control gear range from Telemecanique, France. A range of control and automation products from Crouzet/Syrelec, France is stocked, distributed and incorporated in panel manufacturing by Power Technics.

Power Technics is the official distributor in Kenya for Thorn lighting. An extensive range of imported Thorn Luminaires is stocked, and a range of Luminaires is manufactured under license from Thorn lighting. CNC machines, CAD technology, powder coating systems, and luminaries for industrial and commercial installation are manufactured and supplied at short notice. Luminaires are also exported to neighbouring countries.
The Kenya Bureau of Standards has awarded Power Technics the 'Diamond mark of Quality'
Power Technics is an official distributor for GE lighting. A complete range of lamps imported from GE is stocked and marketed in East Africa.
