 A Short History |
On the 31st march of 1994 Kosova Chamber of Commerce was constituted by private business as a parallel Chamber. After two months of activities the Serb authorities detained the leadership staff, sending it to prison with a sentenced to two years of imprisonment.
The Kosova Chamber of Commerce resumed its work on 24.06.1999.Fifty- three employees of the Chamber returned to work . KCC is a non-for profit, non-political, non-government institution, which is oriented to advocate the economic development of Kosova.
| Mission |
The mission of KCC is to represent the business community of Kosova in its relations with the government, to support and protect its legal interests and tom encourage the development of trade and industry in Kosova according to these interests.
| Membership |
Based on UNMIK regulation 1999/24 on the Applicable Law in Kosova, and on the Law of Kosova Chamber of Commerce, the membership in the Chamber is compulsory for:
* All the companies registered by the Economic Court
of Kosova (Private, state and social owned companies)
* Farmer association and craftsman association are
a collective member.
* KCC has presented about 30.000 members, who represent
almost all the business community in Kosova.
Benefits from the membership
The members benefits from the services of the Chamber:
* Free of charge: business information, consulting,
participation in seminars, training, some publications,
etc.
* All low tariffs: participation in business mission
outside Kosova, in fairs, exhibitions, and publications,
etc.

Chamber has the following departments:
* International Relations Department
* Legal Framework Department
* SME-Support Department
* Project Evaluation Department
Chamber has 11 associations, organized by sectors.

KCC has two fundamental functions:
1.To represent the members in the relations with the government , in various organizations and in activities inside and outside of Kosova.
2. To serve its members and the business community in general.

International relations
* The Chamber organizes business missions, which
may be missions of Kosova business in another countries
or missions of the foreign business in Kosova.
* Assists the members to participate in fairs and
exhibitions organized by others, inside and outside
of Kosova.
* Organizes annual international fair in Kosova

* Organizes or assists in the participation
of the members in bilateral or international conferences,
meetings and seminars acquainting them with legislation,
the economic situation and the local and foreign
market practices and trends.
* Offers consular service for its members, thus
assisting their movement outside and inside Kosova

The Chambers offers to the company, both in Kosova and in other countries the opportunity to be informed on:
* Contact addresses of the KCC members and their
activity(products and/or services);
* Contact addresses of the exporting companies,
members of the KCC and their activity;
* Contact addresses of the Chamber of Commerce in
other countries;
* Statistic ,economic and trade information on Kosova;
* Kosova economic legal framework;
* International activities of interest for the Kosova
business-trade fairs, exhibitions, congresses ,
conferences, forums , and meetings;
* Demands and offers for goods and services produced
inside and outside of Kosova;
* Demands and offers for joint-ventures inside and
outside of Kosova, etc.

* Legal consultancy , with regard to the Kosova
legal framework, and that of other countries ,legal
forms of businesses in Kosova, the documentation
related with the ways how to start a business, how
to create companies with foreign partners , the
establishment of foreign companies in Kosova, contractual
relations, etc.
* Business consultancy , related with opening and
management of the businesses , the trade documentation
, the procedures, how to receive the trade license,
the customs procedures, etc.

* Issuing of the membership certificate in the Chamber
* Issuing of the certificate of origin of goods
produced in Kosova.
* Working on the preparation for issuing the ATA
Carnet- international document.
| Training |
In cooperation with experts and specialized institutions, KCC organizes training courses in and out Kosova, for the professional formation of its members in fields and on issues of interest for them.
Relations with International Institutions and other Chambers of Commerce in other countries
KCC aim is to work intensively on expanding the relations with the same institutions in other countries, considering is a natural and efficient way to accomplish the interest of its members and economically beneficial for the country in the conditions of globalization of the world economy .
KCC has signed agreements on cooperation with many chambers in other countries of the world such as:
