A Milestone
Achievement |
South East Asian Airlines
(SEAIR) is a pioneer in Philippine aviation. Since 1995, SEAIR has
been bringing travelers visiting the Philippines to some of the
most beautiful destinations in the world. Consistency, quality and
reliability characterize SEAIR’s operations. For two consecutive
years, the airline has been awarded “Best Airline of the Year”
(2002 and 2003) by the Philippines’ largest Consumers Excellence
Award.
Currently SEAIR serves
a total of 18 sectors nationwide. It employs over 350 people ready
to provide excellent service to passengers. SEAIR’s fleet
is made up of 4 Dornier 328 and 7 LET 410 UVP-E aircraft for use
in scheduled and chartered flights.
Recently SEAIR
has signed a franchise agreement with Singapore’s Tiger Airways,
introducing the SEAIR Tiger Hops. Domestic and regional services
out of Clark using brand new Airbus A320 ‘s. This will enhance
SEAIR’s fleet and allow the airline to expand its network.
Meeting
More than Customer’s Expectations |
SEAIR has made a name for itself at achieving excellence
and surpassing customer expectations. The airline fosters an atmosphere
of team building through training, commitment and dedication to
achieve the highest sense of the company’s identity; thus
becoming a benchmark model in the application of Quality Management
System in the aviation industry.
SEAIR strives to provide safe, reliable and convenient
air services at par with the highest airline service standards worldwide.
Through its experience in developing tourist destinations
since 1995, the airline has modernized its fleet, presently counting
with the youngest fleet in its segment of the industry. SEAIR can
therefore pride itself for providing the fastest flights to certain
destinations, including Caticlan (Boracay) in just 35 minutes from
Manila.
Yet, SEAIR is more than just an airline. The company
is an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) authorized
third-party repair station. Services include maintenance service
for airframes, power plants, avionics and aircraft interiors, making
SEAIR much more than just an innovative air carrier in the Philippines.
A Bit
of History |
In late 1995, Iren Dornier, Nikos Gitsis and Tomas
Lopez founded South East Asian Airlines with two nine-seater DO-28
airplanes, which flew from Manila to Caticlan and Club Noah in Palawan.
Headquarters were based in Clark.
Later the following year, SEAIR brought in a 19
seater LET 410 aircraft, which is ideal for short take-offs and
landings, becoming ideal for destinations such as Palawan where
larger commercial aircrafts cannot land.
Throughout the following years, with great success
and through commitment, SEAIR gradually increased its fleet from
one LET410 aircraft to nine LET410 planes. By 1999, SEAIR embarked
on a nationwide expansion program. It opened regional hubs in Cebu
and Zamboanga and it started offering interconnecting flights to
Palawan including Manila-Busuanga-El Nido- Puerto Princesa and Cuyo.
It comes as no surprise that in 2002 and 2003 consecutively;
SEAIR was awarded “Best Airline of the Year” by Philippine's
largest Consumer’s Excellence Award. In 2003 as well, the
airline became ISO 9001-2000 certified for quality management systems.
In 2004, SEAIR reached the 1 million-passenger mark.
That same year the airline acquired its first Dornier 328 and launched
the “Fastest flights to Boracay” campaign.
2006 was another milestone year for SEAIR. It acquired
its fourth Dornier 328 and introduced online reservations and an
e-ticketing system, being the first and only online system to offer
e-tickets to Boracay and Busuanga. Other destinations are available
for purchase online as well.
By September, SEAIR had signed a franchise agreement
with Singapore’s only low fare airline, Tiger Airways to introduce
the SEAIR Tiger Hops. These low cost, no-frill
service flights will include daily services out of Clark to regional
and domestic trunk lines using brand new Airbus A320’s.
By the end of 2006 SEAIR’s online reservations
system broke a record in Philippine e-commerce.
This year SEAIR
turned 12 years old, becoming the longest running airline in the
country next to Philippine Airlines. Currently the airline offers
29,000 seats per month through its network and flies a total of
19,000 passengers to Boracay per month.
