Obtaining the MCA certificate from Great Britain represents an additional confirmation that drug production is carried out according to GMP regulations and that quality assurance is a priority. This could not be achieved without permanent advance training of employees and giving priority to team work. Competence for particular operations performance is verified for all 2200 employees. Educational courses for different fields are held in the internal Business School according to ISO 9000 standards. At the same time, the experts belonging to Hemofarm Group teams are active participants in seminars and symposia both in the country and abroad. Skilled and specialized cadre is focused on the application of operation methods ranging from the application in production processes and research laboratories, through marketing strategies to the development of industrial property protection. Nowadays, the Group with its seat in Vršac possesses 43 internationally registered and 272 national trademarks, seven patent applications in the country, and blood substitutes on the basis of hemoglobin with the German Patent Institute.
The Yugoslav giant in the field of pharmacy has a rich product range comprising top-quality drugs in all forms and a large variety of pharmaco-therapeutic groups. Since The New World of Health implies prevention as well, Hemofarm has developed a range of vitamin-mineral preparations in the form of granules and effervescents. The skills in the field of pharmacy and medicine are also applied in the production of the cosmetic line for women, which is based on its own production of liposomes. Hemofarm has a leading position both in the sales of drugs, dialyzers and dialysis disposables and in the market of veterinary preparations and crop protection agents.

Application of the most contemporary technologies has enabled a record production in 2001 amounting to 91 million packs of drugs, which is tripled when compared to the figures a decade ago. Production is carried out in the most contemporary plants in Vršac, Dubovac, Srpska Crnja, Jasenovo, Podgorica and Backi Petrovac in the country. Out of the total production 75 percent was supplied to the domestic market, while the rest was
marketed in foreign markets. Hemofarm's products are famous in twenty countries of the world, and they are most represented in the markets of the region (Romania, Macedonia, the Republic of Srpska), Russia, Ukraine, and the developed countries of North Africa and Middle East, China, but also in the countries of Western Europe, primarily, Germany and Italy, and then Switzerland and Great Britain. Hemofarm develops local productions in the countries in which mutual interest is found, such as in China where the factory for infusion solutions production was opened two years ago. Different forms of co-operation have been established with the most famous world manufacturers, among which is also the world leading manufacturer of dialyzers Fresenius, with which Hemofarm has a mixed enterprise.

Hemofarm is a shareholding company composed of the parent company and 21 subsidiaries, 12 of which are in the country, and others are abroad. The subsidiaries, which are not engaged in the production, are specialized in marketing, foreign-trade operations, knowledge transfer and complete engineering. Based on the rich experience and decades-long knowledge acquiring, and relying on its own cadre potential, the enterprise Hemofarm inženjering has been established with a sister company in Germany, the activity of which includes the complete engineering ranging from designing, technology transfer, to facilities construction and equipping. Pharmaceutical plants construction and equipping represents its more narrow specialization.
