Coca-Cola has become a symbol of refreshment, success and longtime development. Coca- Cola operates in more than 200 countries and is an example of synergy linking global strategy and local conditions. Worldwide Coca-Cola has the leadership on the market and the responsibility for the development of the entire soft drink industry. Therefore besides their execution activities, Coca-Cola considers important, looking creatively for the new refreshment opportunities for their consumers and satisfying customer's need in general.



Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia is a 100 % daughter company of a multinational company Coca-Cola Beverages and its mission is: to satisfy the needs of customers and final consumers over a longer period of time. Coca-Cola Beverages is a key bottler, an authorized local producer and distributor of Coca-Cola beverages and at the same time the biggest non alcoholic beverage company in middle and eastern Europe, with headquarters in London.

Coca-Cola producer are giving a tune also in the industrial programs designed for the renewing and recycling of packaging materials such as glass, aluminium and plastic materials. As to the protection of environment, experiences have shown that the most cost-effective thing is the sorted picking and the recyclable packaging materials, which are used as a secondary raw materials for renewal of materials and energy.



MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

THE SALES AND MARKETING DEPARTMENT creates additional value and simultaneously delivers them directly to their customers and final consumers. Marketing department consists of 5 independent sales­distribution centers in Bratislava, Lùka, Banskà Bystrica and Košice. Sales teams work directly on the market and they are responsible for relationship with customers, sales, promotion etc.



At the present time the mission of the FINANCIAL DEPARTMENT is to support production, sales and marketing departments. Finance employees in financial department not only carry out financial and accounting operations, but are also involved in strategic management.

Generally the mission of the EXTERNAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT is to communicate an actual, objective and precise information for the broader public. The employees of Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia are "ambassadors of Coke" and they at the the public opinion. Coca-Cola communicate not only through promotions, but through their daily activities as well. Coca-Cola builds their external relationships with the help of media, their friends, relatives and business partners.

THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT covers everything from hiring of highly motivated and committed employees; through utilizing their knowledges, skills, motivation, crossfunction connections, attitudes and commitment to work , valuation of employees, social development, further education etc.



THE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT has a clear goal: to make products of high quality in an optimal quantity, just-in-time for all their customers. They constantly strive to improve the quality of their service, so they could become the best company in the area of operations in Slovakia.

MANUFACTURING AND DISTRIBUTION CENTERS

The BRATISLAVA branch was established as the first sales and distribution center in Slovakia in May 1992. The capital city is a center of social life and tourism. That requires offering services of high quality to satisfy customers (stores, hotels and restaurants). Coca-Cola consistently supports this effort of their partners by offering refreshment and feeling of comfort as well.


The manufacturing plant in LÙKA near Pieštany is the heart of Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia. The Coca-Cola Company products are produced and distributed throughout Slovakia from this centre. Manufacturing facilities cover a total area of 14,5 ha. The connection of the manufacturing plant with a distribution center in 1998 has enabled Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia to build one organic unit.

The branch in BANSKÀ BYSTRICA was established in September 1992. The mission of the branch is the distribution of products to outlets and directly to stores, restaurants or hotels. Sales is not the only activity of the branch in Banskà Bystrica. They support sport activities e.g. World Championship in dog racing in Donoval, Rock FM Fest, tournaments in tennis ect.



The branch in KOŠICE started operations in August 1992. This branch covers the territory from High Tatras to the very east point Cierna nad Tisou. The team of this branch (almost 80 people) is taking care for selling branded products to commercials networks, hotels, restaurants, discos ect. Their sales activities climbed to interesting places e. g. Skalnatè pleso or Sliezsky Dom in High Tatras - the highest located selling places in Slovakia.

The Coca-Cola brand is the most spread brand in the world and it is known by 94 % of the population. Coca-Cola has became a symbol of refreshment, success and of long-term development. Coca-Cola operates in more than 200 countries in the world and it is writing its history for more than 115 years.

Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia is a part of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, that operates in 26 countries. The Coca-Cola history in Slovakia dates from war-time, but Coca-Cola started their own business activities since 1989, when the official licence was giving to them. In January 1992, the first branch in Slovakia (in Bratislava) was established and after the split-up of Czechoslovakia in January 1993, the independent company Coca-Cola Amatil Slovakia was found.

The acquisition and construction of the manufacturing plant in Lùka in April 1994 was a significant step for the company. In July 1998, the Coca-Cola Amatil Slovakia transformed into the Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia.



In 2000, Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia became one of the finalists in the National Quality Awards of the Slovak Republic. Currently, Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia is the biggest company in the soft drink industry and also the biggest investor in its sector. The production run is based in the manufacturing plant in Lùka and in 4 distribution and sales centres. Thanks to the suitable location and the excellent manufacturing and technical equipment, the company can comply with the foreign and Slovak requirements.

The distribution and sales centres are located in a way that allow them to cover, from a logistic point of view, the whole Slovak territory with a maximum delivery time of 24 hours. Coca-Cola Beverages Slovakia has 4 centres located in Bratislava, Lùka, Banskà Bystrica and Košice.

The sales rates in Slovakia are increasing every year, from 32 million Litres in 1993 to an estimated 130 millions litres in 2000.

Coca-Cola employs 635 employees; the majority concentrates in the sales, marketing and production department.
