Ibrahim Mahama – Chief Executive Officer

He also worked with M&M Properties in the U.K., a property development company.

The Company’s target market is the West African Mining Industry. Engineers and Planners is the only wholly-owned Ghanaian mining service company and its strategy is to become the top wholly-owned Ghanaian contract mining company operating in Ghana and West Africa. It plans to achieve this through continued best practice and service to its existing client base and also to new entrants to the Ghanaian mining scene which has vast business opportunities.

Operations

E&P seeks to expand into the mining industry in the West African region.

In its relatively short existence, Engineers & Planners has gained a reputation for successfully completing all of its contractual commitments, on time, and to client satisfaction.

List of contracts undertaken:

African Mining Services – Topsoil Stripping Contract – E&P commenced work on a contract for AMS for a topsoil stripping project at the Tarkwa open pit mine. The project required the haulage of 30,000 to 50,000 cubic metres of material per month. Two new Volvo A35D trucks and one Cat 345 Excavator were employed full time on the contract, which ran a double shift.

Bogoso Gold Ltd. – Haulage of Ore – This contract involved the loading and hauling of ore at designated ore stockpiles at Densu Central (5.5 km to Rom Pad) and Beposo Stockpile (8.75 km). Minimum monthly tonnage was 120,000 tonnes.

Prestea Sankofa Gold - E&P undertook a Tailings Dam Construction Project for Prestea Sankofa Gold Ltd. on 10 April 2000. The contract was completed in May 2001.

Land reclamation - In 1998, the company undertook Land Reclamation for Teberebie Goldfields using Hydro-seeding techniques, which requires soil arrangement and the installation of Geo-textile Lined Drains. Considerable expertise has been developed by the Company in this sector, and with increased monitoring of the environmental impact of mining activities, we expect land reclamation contracts to become more prevalent.

Plant and Equipment Hire – E&P has over the years made significant capital investments to augment its fleet of equipment to a level adequate to support operating as a main contractor to Gold Fields.
