at current import parity prices per annum.

Monsoto Group of the USA, to produce blends of sugar and aspartame.

043-20909 Usinf cotton seed, sunflower and such other locally grown raw materials to
produce refined, edible oils for cooking purposes. The expansion of this industry
has been finalized to process crude palms.
Madhvani Soap Industries (1989) Ltd. P.O. Box 54 Jinja, Tel: 043-41247, Fax:
043-20909 Manufacturing 850 tons of toilet and laundry soap per month both for the domestic
and international markets. This is to be expanded by the addition of a new laundry
soap manufacturing line. The total production after expansion will be approx. 1800
tons of soap per month.

Activities |
Madhvani is the biggest industrial group in UGANDA. It's fields of activities
range from packaging to sugar, through oil, tea processing and tourism. It is now
increasing it's activities in other countries such as Zambia Kenya.

Channel Television Limited has been incorporated and has been transmitting television
programmes throughout some parts of the country. East African Underwriters East African
Underwriters is a jointventure between the Madhvani Group and the Christchurch Insurance
Group of London. The firm is a composite insurance company writing all classes of business
East African Underwriters portfolio includes major industrial risks in Uganda as
well as reinsurance business from regional countries. The firms headquarters are in
Kampaln, with a branch office in Jinja and representative offices in the United Kingdom
(London) and Kenya (Nairobi and Mombasa).
Telecommunication
Plans are underway to set up a telecommunication network within the country using both
radio and cellular technology.
Financial Sector
Investment and participation in the financial sector of the economy such as banking,
Tourism Ownership of lodges and hotels within the national parks to cater for the tourism
industry. GinneriesThe group is already having advanced discussions
towards the acquisition of cotton ginneries in the Busoga area. Primarily the cotton will
be used by the groups textile division as raw material for spinning yarn that will
eventually be exported The cotton seeds will be utilized by the groups oil mill to
produce edible oil.
Polypropylene
To manufacture 50/100 kgs polypropylene bags for packaging.
Sponge Iron
Using the abundantly available iron ore within the country to produce billets and reduce
dependence on scrap metal to be integrated with the Steel industry in the country.
Plastics
Injection moulding and blow moulding to produce industrial containers and crates.
Co-generation of power
Generation of electricity from bagasse, a by product of sugar, to be commercially sold to
the main grid and to invest in the hydro power potential in the country.
Beverage industry
Production and bottling of soft drinks in Uganda.
Agency Representation
Machine Tools Ltd. is in the process of acquiring major agencies representation for
vehicles, tractors and various industrial equipment in Uganda. |
