Can you give us some background information on your company in terms of its history, structure and its main activities in Uzbekistan?

The "Naytov" company has been established in 1994, and it is one of the universal companies with a wide range of activities in the field of computer engineering and services according to the requirements of the time. Having worked for a long time as a distributor, we know that customers need hardware and software as well as turn-key LAN solutions fulfilled as a whole complex of work to implement his own information system. That's why the system integration was created as a special structure performing this separate kind of activity. Naytov is one of the computer companies that tries to realize big and long lasting projects that will favor the fast development of the information society. Our aim is the development of the countrywide infrastructure via total network integration. In the area of distribution, we deliver and sale computers and components, network equipment and component parts and software from world manufacturers. We also set up and install local and corporate networks , test and install software, provide technical support and guarantee service in the service center. Moreover, we grant information services on high-speed satellite channels of communication, and provide access to the global network, such as the Internet.

Who are your main competitors, and what is your strategy in order to successfully compete with them?

Our main competitors are "UzPAK" and "Eastlink" but they are more partners than competitors. We face competition from the Russian provider named "Global one", but our main purpose is not to compete with them but more to train specialists that would possess the necessary skills and abilities that will contribute to the creation of certain services that are unique and capable of attracting all clients.Today, we offer a full range of services, and foreign companies, representatives and Embassies only work though our company.

How would you presently rate the development of internet in Uzbekistan ?

Having said that, I would like to add that we have agreements with a few commercial banks on creating a line of Internet banking in Uzbekistan and customer service through the Internet.
I must say that five years ago we had 20 clients, whereas today we have many providers that receive Internet from us and therefore we believe that we have more than 5,000 clients in Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan.

How many employees do you have ? What is your turnover?

The number of our staff is about 120 employees and our turnover makes up about 5 million dollars as of 1999.

How do you see your company evolving within the next couples of years, given all the changes and developments taking place in the industry?

We hope, that in the future, some state organizations will be in need of a data transforming network and we will have a chance to build the data transforming networks for private organizations as well as for state organizations for the further increase of their effectiveness. We hope that with our help the state organizations will have access to the Internet and international global network.

What would be your final message to our readers which are all potential investors in Uzbekistan?

Our business here is based on reality and we would like all businessmen, tourists or other visitors to trust only the truthful sources of information like our interview, and I want them to try to face the reality and then undertake investments. While doing investment projects we believe that everything will be smooth from the political and economic standpoint. Of course, I cannot advise your readers to start their businesses right away but instead first to get familiar with a real situation. In many cases whatever problems we are facing at the moment, we are still working to overcome them and still doing our business, and since you are working with the partners you should not be afraid of the reality, situation and policy. Definitely, if you have good partners, and if you get familiar with the environment, you certainly should establish your business here.
