A NEW ERA FOR VARGAS

This State filled with opportunities in tourism due to the amount of beaches, clubs and hotels of diverse categories; unfortunately due to the events of December of 1999 it has suffered great loss. It is the opening gate of our country, through the International Airport Simon Bolivar, it also counts on a national airport where one can traveled to any destination within the country.

The State of Vargas

New Governor Antonio Rodriguez wants to offer solutions to all small problems the people might have, without forgetting the major projects that are needed to obtain the complete reconstruction of this entity.

Keeping in mind the management disorder that reigned in the last administration, the regional leader pointed out that something so complex as the public administration and a government required a completely automatic process, where the resource management is clearly defined, so that in any given moment there would be a financial disposal of the resources being used, who participate in the reconstruction process, who are the private companies that carry out the projects that did not exist.

The Governor insists that for his government the first priority will be to attract the insecurity and unemployment and of course he will not limit any effort in the health and education areas.

Reconstruction is another challenge

The reconstruction of the entity is one of the greatest aspirations and a main challenges and it will be possible thanks to the full support of the central government and of course of the cooperation of Mayor Jaime Barrios, with the union of all these official the reconstruction will be possible.

"New road developments are linking the state to the rest of the country"

In the subject concerning systems of roads there will be a great effort done in the west where there is great tourism potential. From Puerto Maya to Arrecifes that are beautiful beaches that were not contaminated in tragedy of 99, roads in that area were never built and the government is working coordinated especially with infrastructure because these are expensive projects and the budget does not cover it. Next year it will begin with large projects and starting this year with the least expensive.

Public Service Improvement

According to the data given by the regional leader the public services that collapse in the December tragedy have been slowly reestablished.

However he admits to the fact that there are still problems with water and electricity in the east side of the Litoral. In addition Hidrocapital has been working very hard this last year and the results are that only a few zones of the west and east have not received the white water services, even though thus situation was before even more critical.

In relation to the water service the treatment plant of Punta Gorda should be concluded no later than next year, because the job is very advance and test are been done in pumping stations located in Macuto that pump water in the east.

The electric service of Tanauarena and Los Corales, being the most affected zones and unfortunately the company does not operate emergency projects, at the present moments tanks in the west are being repaired and it is estimated that at the end of the year the service should be restored in the entire zone.

Clean Beaches for the coming year

"Beautiful beaches scale the entire coast of the State of Vargas"

It is believed that by the second semester for next year the state's beaches should be completely uncontaminated, of course that nature must do the purification job for some months, for the time being several beaches located to the east are fairly recuperated.

Some pipes are damaged and must be detected one by one, and it is a very difficult task, but it is being done quite well.

2 thousand policemen for Vargas

This is one of the major challenges and the reason why the Security Committee was created and has a state police force that will initially count on for 6 months with a thousand officers and for the next year with two thousand.

At the present moment a gun control and vigilance campaign is being carried out to decrease the criminal index and battle drugs. The creation of a program called The city guardians, which is none other than the citizens participation in watching over their city with the help of the police officers.

98 Percent of the schools operating

98% of the schools are operating and soon a School Food Program will start together with the donation of school materials.

100 Thousand Million is donated to the Macuto Maternity

Before the ends of the month the Emergency of Pariata should already be operating. The donation of medicines in the ambulatory and hospitals are up to date and the maternity demonstrated to feel optimistic, for it counts on the support of the canario government who offer 100 thousand million Bolivar to reconstruct its physical area, there is the possibility that the resources may cover medical equipments.
Infrastructure

The infrastructure projects being done by the Government of the state of Vargas are very advanced for the reconstruction process of the region. Soon the following projects will reinaugurate: the Pariata peripheric, La Guaira fishing port, as well as some important roads.

Regional government is present in the reconstruction

The government of the state of Vargas is working in accordance with national and local entities for the regional recovery. With machinery and employment generated from the Plain Plan, the government has rescued ways of roads removing the debris and dirt that laid in Los Corales, one of the most affected zones by the tragedy of December 1999.

The regional entity is intervening the well-known Paseo de Macuto through the paving of the Alamo Avenue, la Playa and san Bartolome Street. Gardens, concrete bathrooms, information booths, and the lighting of the zone is also being restored.

"The New Vargas, the ideal destination!"

The Project Plans that the government of Vargas will soon execute in accordance to the 2001 budget of 6 thousand million bolivares is destined to projects that will allow direct attention to he community.

Even though the estimated investment according to the parochial projects is around 30 thousand million bolivares, this year will only count on the community projects such as: walk ways, ravines made by torrents, walls, minor school reconstructions, stairs and others.
