SAPLED's Activivities



The African Milk and Milk products Company ( SAPLED ) is a private corporation with a registered Capital of 395,000,000 FCFA.

Set up in 1985 the company's head office and facilities are located in Abidjan, Yopougon industrial park.



For the past 14 years the quality of the company's products have been widely recognised here and the most representative foodstuff distributors in the country have made use of SAPLED's services including: PROSUMA, SOCOCE, SODISPAM, CNCI, CDCI, among others.

In a few figures SAPLED is:

  • a turnover of 1.7 billion FCFA in 1996, 3.4 billion FCFA untaxed in 1997, and 5.4 billion FCFA in 1998 of which more than 60 percent was as a result of trade with countries in the sub-region: Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Ghana.

  • about 1.5 billion FCFA of fixed assets of which 1.1 billion being production equipment.

  • 115 permanent employees.
  • But first of all SAPLED is a team of professionals credited with experience and know-how.

    As the first butter manifacturer in the Côte d'Ivoire, we constantly look for improving on quality and a widening of our range of products in order to better keep up with the different demands of the local and sud-regional markets. We owe our success and perenniality to this constant search for quality and diversification which are reflected by our important production investments, innovation of our products range, and the development of our distribution networks.



    To date we produce two brands of quality butter, Imperial and Normandie and two brands of margarine, Princesse and Excellence. We also produce a wide range of yoghourts available in sizes ranging from 1.4 litres to 125 ml, and also available in a wide range of flavours such as natural, natural sweet, vanilla, strawberry, coconut etc. SAPLED also produces cheese and ice creams called Magic and Popito. Finally, we have expanded our know-how to fruit juices that we franchise under Marbo Inc for Tampico juice whilst at the same time developing our own range with flavours such as apple, ginger, and pineapple.

    In order to carry out this diversification and respond to strict hygienic norms, SAPLED has extended its know-how to new manifacturing techniques combining both quality and modernism. The factory works 24h a day, 6 out of 7 days a week. Our raw materials are imported from the United States, Europe, South Africa and New Zealand in accordance to world market prices.

    Our present production rate is 1,800,000 litres of yoghourts, 600,000 litres of fruit juice and 2500 tons of butter.
