Oil Exports
Angola’s crude oil is mainly exported to China, fol-
lowed by the US and India. Other oil importers in-
clude Brazil, South Korea, Chile and Indonesia.
Angolan exports to Asian countries have grown rap-
idly in recent years. Chinese demand for Angolan
crude is primarily a result of its enormous expansion
and its adoption of stricter environmental standards

Refining and Downstream
The Fina Petroleos de Angola refinery in Luanda,
a joint venture between Sonangol and TotalFinaElf,
has a crude oil processing capacity of 39,000 bbl/d.
The refinery produces almost all of Angola’s domes-
tic requirements of petrol, kerosene and jet fuel, as
well as a small amount of product for export.
