safe and secure” is the motto of G4S, the world’s
leading international security solutions group with
more than 100 years of experience. Based in the
United Kingdom, the company operates in 110 coun-
tries and employs 600.000 workers worldwide. It
provides security services to its partners in different
sectors such as governments, private energy, utili-
ties, oil, gas, transport, logistics, ports, airports, lei-
sure, tourism, financial institutions, major corporate,
industrials and retail.
The Angolan branch of G4S starts operations on
the 1st of June 2010 after a careful verification of
compliance with the security laws and the laws of
the Ministry of labour. The security agency is already
providing security services to the American Embassy
in Luanda, one of the most prestigious clients. G4S
will shortly be providing service to an international oil
company and is currently negotiating for more con-
tracts from other embassies or multinational compa-
nies. G4S has extensive experience of working with
the world’s leading oil and gas companies and has
the resources and expertise to secure any asset.
After only a couple of months of activity, G4S already
has 230 employees, of whom 25 are women, which
is really uncommon in this industry. These ladies are
both supervisors and guards. In fact, the employ-
ment policy in this security agency favours equality
and fair treatment. At G4S, the workers are well paid
compared to other companies within this sector. The
philosophy of the agency is to give more to its em-
ployees to be better motivated and deliver a better
quality service. Team work and collaboration are es-
sential within the group. Training is an integral part of
G4S as they want to have the best people working
for them. Ethics is a core value of the company and
this is what makes the difference with its competi-
tors. This security agency focuses on its customers,
offering them a higher level of expertise offered by
an international group.
The objective of G4S is to use its global experience
to be the biggest and the best security agency in Lu-
anda very soon. In October 2010, it already has a
turnover of 170,000USD/month and it should triple
by the end of that year. It provides a wide variety of
security services, from guards to the latest electronic
technology.

Founded in 1999, H.C.Serviços is specialized in the
promotion and provision of services and operates in
transport, procurement, distribution of drinking water
and gasoil, maintenance and cleaning of buildings
and equipment such as generators.
The transport and distribution of drinking water and
gasoil are the core business of the company, provid-
ed to clients from both the public and private sectors:
H.C. has contracts with some oil companies such as
Sonangol or ENI, but also with embassies, NGOs,
public companies…
The demand for such services is high as the water
distribution network in the region of Luanda can be
poorly efficient and water and electricity cuts are
quite frequent.
In 2009, H.C. distributed 80 million liters of drinking
water and 10 million liters of gasoil for generators.
This result has been achieved thanks to a fleet of 14
new trucks. H.C. pays attention to reducing the costs
and time of delivery by the good management of its
distribution road maps. Thus, the turnover reached
0,5million USD for water and 1million USD for gasoil
and is constantly increasing.
