Agriculture
demand (120.000 tons) and 36.000 tons of oil, for
the brands Tia Bella and Gazela.
The prices are regulated by the ministries of agri-
culture and industry in order to find a fair balance
between producers and consumers, and to favor the
national production.
Induve employs more than 270 workers who work
according to the 8-hours shifts in many different
fields such as laboratories, production, services, op-
erations, or mechanics.
The factory provides distributors like Atlas Group
and other wholesalers. These clients order specific
products and Induve has to meet their expectations
in terms of quality and product characteristics, using
different varieties of seeds. There is little competi-
tion in this market as the volume of production of the
other players is very low (3-5% market share) which
allows Induve to enjoy a 20-30% market share in oil
and 40% in flour.
During the production process, the focus is put on
high quality products with great nutritional value. In
order to satisfy its customers’ expectations, brand
new equipment has been installed in the factory,
which also helps reducing the waste and maximizing
the production.
Induve has foreign partners to develop the procure-
ment sources and exchange products, particularly in
Brazil.
In 2009, due to the increase of the production of
mills and flour, the turnover reached 17million USD,
representing a 20% rise compared to the previous
year. Induve has a very high profitability thanks to a
good management of cost reduction, a large volume
of sales and little loss.
The strategy for the near future is to increase the in-
vestment of wheat flour and to focus on the produc-
tion of flour for animal consumption for the national
market and for exports to Africa and America. On a
longer term, Induve wants to incentivize the local
producers (cooperatives, associations…) and help
them develop their production for the national mar-
ket. Investments are also made to better the working
conditions and to reduce the costs to keep the prices
low for the end consumer.
“Angola is a very safe market for investments. The
legislation gives a lot of advantages to foreign inves-
tors and facilitates the repatriation of funds. Angola
is the country of the future with a high potential and
both natural and human resources. It is important to
develop the formation of the Angola workforce and
to adapt to the methodology of the foreign investors”.
