Banco Sol started its activities in 2001 with the social
objective to provide micro-financing activities. This
was the true motive to constitute the bank.
Besides the micro financing activities, the bank also
offers a wide range of traditional financial and retail
services to its clients.
The mission of the bank is to create value for its
customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and
other stakeholders while respecting the relations be-
tween them.
Providing micro credit to its customers has been one
of the strategic pillars which has guided the activities

The Angolan Group AAA was founded in 2000 and
provides the financial services of risk management,
brokerage, insurance and reinsurance to both Ango-
lan and international companies.
AAA originated from a private–public partnership
whose purpose was to provide the services the na-
tional oil society – Sonangol – needs for the execu-
tion of its strategy of managing risk in oil operations.
In Angola AAA is organized as an entrepreneurial
group coordinated by a holding company, AAA Fi-
nancial Services, which integrates AAA Insurance
SARL, AAA Pensions, AAA Broker and Insurance,
and AAA Services and Risk.
Within the group there are two distinct companies
operating in Angola:
AAA Seguros SA (life and non-life insurance):
Working with the oil and gas sector AAA offers a
variety of insurance protection products via its ALF-
Angola Lineship Facility. Reinsurance is offered via
a group of reinsurance companies such as AIG,
ACE, Zurich and Catlin. The oil companies captives
also have a significant share in the business.
AAA Pensões SA (pension fund management):
AAA Pensions is the first and largest pension fund
manager in Angola. The company manages the
pension plan for Sonangol, the Ministry of Petro-
leum, Sonils, BP and other major corporations.
The company is known in the market for its innova-
tive management and transparent style. All of its ac-
counts are audited by an internationally-accredited
accounting firm.
