The city of La Unión
It is the capital city of the Department with the same
name. It is the largest city in the Department with a
population of almost 26,739 inhabitants. The biggest
port of El Salvador has been built there. It is also the
departure point for the boats that go to the islands in
the Fonseca Gulf.
Tamarindo, Tunas, Playas Negras
Beaches
This is the area where the three beaches mentioned
before meet. This means that different types of
beaches are found within a small area. Las Tunas
and Playas Negras are black sand beaches with rock
formations creating small pools where it is possible
to enjoy a natural swimming pool. Tamarindo is a
