The Livingstone Tourism Association (LTA) is tasked
with promoting the greater Livingstone area as a pre-
ferred tourist destination through marketing the many
products and services of its members. Representing
the ‘tourism capital of Zambia”, the LTA also plays a
vital role in recommending policies, programs, and
legislation, which are responsive to the needs of the
tourist industry. Through the collective energy of its
members, the LTA facilitates and implements capac-
ity building in both established market segments and
potential new growth areas in the tourism industry.
Working from a three year strategic plan, LTA has
recently embarked on an action plan to rebrand Liv-
ingstone, improve marketing effectiveness, increase
membership to include service related industries,
and expand benefits for its members. In so doing,
LTA recognizes the impact of tourism on economic
growth in the country and the benefits to the citizens
of Livingstone and Zambia.
