Our World is Changing!
For over 35 years the four-star-deluxe Royal Lancaster Hotel has
been a feature of the London skyline. Few city-centre hotels can
boast a better location with the 600 acres of Kensington Gardens
and Hyde Park just across the road, while Marble Arch and the West
End shopping and theatre districts are only minutes away. Its 416
bedrooms - including three floors of Executive rooms specially-designed
for the business traveller, and 22 Suites - have superb views over
the Park and the London townscape, and feature all modern amenities
including multi-voltage convertor power sockets and high-speed internet
access. The two principal function suites, each accommodating over
1000 people, are well-known as venues for the most prestigious conferences,
awards ceremonies, meetings and dinners.
Now the Hotel is having a facelift. The exterior is being completely
transformed by a new limestone cladding from the ground floor to
car park (2nd floor) level, and 12 smaller meeting rooms for 8 -
200 people are being introduced. These are collectively known as
the Forest Suite, and the individual rooms have been broken down
under the names Oak, Willow, Cedar, and Beech to reflect the fact
that the large windows in many of them look out over leafy parkland.
Island -- a super-chic restaurant and bar - has just opened, and
is fast becoming one of the capital's hottest dining venues. Head
Chef Leigh Diggins creates mouth-watering starters and main courses
using fresh seasonal British produce, and his delectable desserts
are a marvel.
The Royal Lancaster also boasts one of Britain's top Thai restaurants.
Nipa is sister to the restaurant of the same name in the The Landmark
Hotel, Bangkok, and the teak panelling, furnishings and artefacts
have all been shipped from Thailand. Nipa is one of only 15 UK restaurants
to receive the 'Thai Select' award from the Thai Government for
restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of
quality and cuisine.
Twenty-four-hour room service is available for residents, and there
is a spacious Lounge Bar serving traditional English afternoon tea,
drinks, and light meals.
The Royal Lancaster is a four star deluxe Hotel with a real buzz
about it, and with the nearby Heathrow Express terminus at Paddington
Station making it a 20-minute journey to London's principal airport,
the Royal Lancaster's location, enhanced facilities and services
make it the ideal choice for travellers to the heart of London.
