a beautiful panorama of Almaty stretches out to

The world's famous high-altitude skating rink
Medeu located at 1691 meters in the Malaya Almatinka
river valley, is bordered by mountain ridges:
Kimasarki on the west, Kabyrgatau on the east,
and Kumbel on the south-east. One of the attractions
is a dike built in the valley of the Malaya Almatinka
river to protect the city from landslides.
Day tour to Charyn Canyon
It is popularly said that the Charyn Canyon is
a smaller version of the famous Grand Colorado
Canyon in America but really it has a unique charm
all of its own. The Charyn river cuts through
Carboniferous sedimentation and intrusive rocks
which form the Kuluktau mountains and form the
Charyn's valley. This picturesque area has a very
diverse relief. The steep canyon slopes, and columns
rise to heights of 150 to 300 meters. Numerous
ravines form a dense and disorderly one called
"badlands". On its slopes are found
fossilized remnants of fauna from the Lower Carboniferous
period.
Day tour to Camel Farm
About 150 km from Almaty is a camel farm. At the
farm about 250 Bakhtrian camels are raised. This
tour must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
The trip goes to Kapchigai lake and then on small
roads to the farm. You have an excellent chance
to see the herd in its natural surrounding. The
tour includes a typical Kazakh lunch in the rather
primitive house of the farmer. The main course
is a lamb, raised on special herbs with a distinct
flavour.
Weekends in the Tian Shan Montains (July - August)
Walk through the neighbouring green mountainsm
or by helicopter to the climbers base camp on
the Northern Inylchek glacier (4.200 m). Overnight
in a camp on the foot of Khan Tengri.
Heli-Sking
Skiing from summits with the altitude of 4600-5200
m, 4 to 5 hours daily. Vertical height vary up
to 2000m. You could go by helicopter if the weather
conditions are good.
Mountain Climbing
The season is from July to August. Pobeda and
Khan Tengri are the highest peaks in the Tian
Shan mountain Range, the world's most northern
7,000m mountains. Khan Tengri is one of the most
beautiful mountains known. It was climbed first
in 1931. Pobeda only discovered in 1942 and climbed
in 1956 is rated as one of the most difficult
mountains to climb due to its massive hanging
