The Grand Holiday Villa Khartoum, Sudan is a 5-star hotel located strategically in the heart of the Khartoum centre and overlooking the framed Nile River. Formerly known as the Grand Hotel, the building was constructed in 1902 by the British Thomas Cook in collaboration with the French.
Rich with the historical splendour, The Grand Hotel was the official hotel for royal visitors and famous dignitaries of the past. Amongst the colourful hotel guests were Queen Victoria and Sir Winston Churchill.
The hotel has undergone an extensive rehabilitation and refurbishment programme at an estimated cost of USD 15 million. Grand Holiday Villa Khartoum now boasts of an attractive façade to reflect a British colonial design and concept.
The hotel was officially opened on 13th November 1999 by the representative of the President of Sudan, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Tahir Ella who was the Minister of Environment at that time.

The new hotel features a total of 140 guest's rooms and suites. The facilities include a 120-seater all day dining Lagenda Restaurant and Lounge, a 40-seater International Sizzler Restaurant, a 80-seater Garden Terrace, a Karaoke Lounge, a ballroom capable of accommodating 40 persons, meeting rooms for 30-40 persons and a Business Centre.
For recreation, there are exclusive male and female swimming pools, children's pool, gymnasium, shopping arcade, Barber Shop and a travel agency.
All rooms and suites are well-appointed and feature first class amenities such as coffee/tea making facilities, a colour television with satellite dish (selected international channels), and telephone with IDD. Hotel suites feature additional facilities such as sofa beds and kitchenette.

The hotel also offers a club membership for the exclusive usage of the hotel recreational facilities. These include swimming pool, a ladies pool, spa, snooker, massage services, gymnasium, sauna, steam, bath, children's room and drink's counter.
