Who are we?

FONDOTURISMO is a public institution Which is in charge of designing, coordinating and executing promotional politics For the tourism image of Venezuela at a national and international level, As well as the integral formation and capacitating the human resource that apply these services to the sector.

El Fondo Nacional De Promocion y Capacitacion Turística was created by the disposition of the article 54 of the Organic Tourism Law, in Official Publication No.36.546 the 24th of September 1998 according to the Partial Regulation of the Organic Tourism Law on the Organization and Operation of the Fondo Nacional de Promocion y Capactacion Turistica (National Promotion and Capacitating Fund) and of the Fondos Mixtos Regionales de Promocion y Capacitacion Turistica (Mixed Regional Promotion and Capacitating Tourism Funds), in accordance to Decree No. 3.272, the 29th of January 1999 of Official Publication no. 5.301.

STRUCTURE



According to what was established in the Partial Regulation of the Organic Law, the maximum authority of the Fondo Nacional de Promocion y Capacitacion Turistica is represented by its Managing Council, which is made up of: one (1) President, four (4) Main Managers and five (5) Substitute Managers.

The performance and following of decisions taken by the Managing Council will be in charge of a Executive Director.

In the same manner the following Administrations also exist:

VISION

Contribute to the social and economical development of Venezuela, as a sustainable touristic product that is highly competitive at a global level in the area of marketing and integral human resource formation in coordinated action with the pubic and private sector.

MISSION

Design and perform marketing and integral Human resource formation plans in accordance to the National Touristic Policy, applying excellence criterias, through a coordinated action among the public and private sectors, With the resources that collect and manage according to what is established in the legal instruments.

OBJECTIVES

Main Objective

Encourage the development of the tourism sector, through the promotion of Venezuela as a destiny, creating awareness to the services givers and the rest of the community on the social, cultural, and economical benefits that derive from the tourist activity.

Specific Objectives

Collect and manage adequately the funds for the formulation of the plans and projects that are approved.



Design marketing plans for medium and long terms, under The concept of Venezuela as a tourist product with sustainable criterias.

Design and implement a statistics and information system, using the technological resources and maintaining them up to date.

Design and implement a capacitating program and integral human resources development, for the private and public sector of the touristic area, Based on the needs, developments and evolutions of the sector in client orientation And in the system of competition defined to evaluate the quality standards in the Administration carried out.

MARKETING AND PROMOTION

Vision

Become the agent in charge of the transformation of Venezuela as a durable and highly competitive product at a global level in the marketing and promotion, in a coordinated action among the public and private sectors.

Mission

Design and perform marketing and promotion plans, applying excellence criterias to reach and maintain the highest quality standards in touristic services and products at national and international level.

Main Objective

Design marketing plans for short, medium and long terms under the concept of Venezuela as a touristic product.

Elaborate a Strategic marketing Plan

Elaborate a Operational Marketing Plan



Specific Objectives

Implement advertisement mechanisms in the country as well as outside of the country, to promote the touristic regions.
Main permanent contact with advertisement agencies that offer services to the Fund.

Coordinate with the Venezuelan Tourism Corporation (Corporacion de Turismo de Venezuela) everything related with events of touristic interest.

Participate, organize and carry out touristic promotional events of national and international level for Venezuela.

Offer consulting to people and public and private organizations in promotional material, marketing and the organization of touristic events.

Elaborate touristic promotional material.

Coordinate the activity of touristic information and promotion stands.

Coordinate with the Venezuelan Tourism Corporation the studies made on the supply and offer of the national tourism product.

Coordinate, perform and evaluate the marketing plan for the Venezuelan tourism product.

Develop studies in tourism marketing.

Coordinate the publication of investigations and projects made by the Fund.

CAPACITATING

Vision



Turn Venezuela into a durable touristic destination, recognized for the quality in service and attention offered to the tourist.

Mission

Capacitate, educate and create awareness to the tourist service givers and the citizenship about the tourism and its benefits, under the durability criteria.

Main Objective

Design a national capacitating and integral human resource program For the tourism sector.

Specific Objectives

Detection investigation on the needs of the main touristic interest zones at national level.

Define through strategic alliances at national, regional and local level with a competitive institutional network that will manage the Plan's performance at different levels of learning, sectors and priority areas of touristic interest.

Offer technical assistance at national level through the Mixed Regional Funds.

Established together with The Ministry of Education a National Education Program for jobs in the Institutions of superior education in Tourism.

Coordinate with national and international institutions, technical assistance programs, internships and investigation projects focused on the capacitating of human resource.

Design a National Tourism Awareness System that will help establish a citizen conscious towards tourism and the tourist, specifically in the school population.

Guarantee through an efficient recollection,
The largest economical resources volume that is required by the National Fund
To guarantee the accomplishment of the promotion and capacitating plans.

Mission

Design and implement politics, programs and activities towards the voluntary pay of the established tax with the means of guarantying the recollection

Main Objective

Establish a divulge plan that allows the largest amount of members of the National Tourism System to be integrated with the means of improving its income and allowing to carry out projects in promotion and capacitating FONDOTURISMO

Specifics Objectives

Maintain an up to date census of the members of the National Tourism System

Look after the accomplishments of the tributary obligations of the members of the National Tourism System according to the vigilant regulation.

Plan and develop activities and increment the recollection.

Coordinate together with the Mixed Regional Funds, the divulged politic that opens way to the recollection.

MIXED REGIONAL FUNDS

What are the Mixed Regional Funds for Promotion and the Touristic Capacitating?

The Mixed Regional Funds are coordinating authorities for the development of the regional touristic activity, constituted under the civil associations figure, in charged of promoting the touristic attractions, as well as touristic capacitating of the human resource that of the tourism service, in the region this way contributing to the improvement of the touristic image in the national and international markets, through the elaboration and implementation of plans for the promotion and touristic capacitating, in accordance o he National Promotion and Capacitating Plan approved and managed by FONDOTURISMO.

Who make it up?

One (1) Main Manager assigned by the Corpoturismo Management, one (1) Main Director for the State Tourism Organism, three (3) Main Managers for the members of The General Associates Assembly; of these three last mentioned members, one must be member of the State Tourism Chamber, the second must be nominated y the associates A type and the last must be nominated by the associates B type.

Resources

The resources of the Mixed Regional Funds come from the amount assigned in the State's Governments Budget, according to the amounts given in accordance to the distribution made in function of what is contemplated in number 4 of the Article 56 of the Tourism Organic Law, resources that derive from the sales of the printed materials, audiovisuals and any other related to the touristic promotion, of the income that are a result of the service management, or contribution made by the private sector or coming under any other concept.
