Africa Motors was established in Liberia in 1995 with the aim of providing quality means of transportation at affordable prices to the Liberian Populace. Working in close co-operation with other business partners, the company provides a broad range of vehicles and services that facilitate trade and enhance mobility in the local environ. Africa Motors is preparing to meet future challenges by assuming new roles, strengthening existing ones and making use of its most valuable assets: "Africa Motors Employees with a commitment to providing the best services and to building a better tomorrow."

The business philosophy of the founders of Africa Motors was a deceptively simple one. The aim was first to hire the best people and then do the job better than the competition to the complete satisfaction of the clients.

The founder also had another aim when establishing the company and that was to be hand in hand partners in the progress of Liberia.

Founders

One Family, the Basmas, comprising primarily of the following three members, founded Africa Motors:

Jamal Basma - Chairman
Ghassan Basma - Co-Chairman
Ramez Basma - Honorary Chairman

Towards the end of the civil war that had engulfed Liberia since the latter part of 1989, these three members recognized the void in the supply of new vehicles created by the war in the market place and decided to take the initiative, bearing in mind the risks involved, and established Africa Motors.

Activities

Africa Motors Corporation imports a wide range of transportation equipment composed largely of passenger and commercial vehicles. Its two main products are Hyundai, the largest integrated car manufacturer in Korea, and Isuzu, specialists in trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles.
The range of transportation equipment imported includes the following:

· Passenger cars

· Commercial vehicles - trucks, buses

· Special purpose vehicles - ambulance, dump trucks, cargo trucks, road cleaners and fire trucks.

· Special utility vehicles

· Automotive parts & accessories

Over the years, since establishment, the company has ensured that it is involved in all aspects of development in Liberia. Some of the activities undertaken include the following:

· Donation of Ambulances to the Liberia National Police to ensure provision of basic medical services to the Liberian People.

· Donation of vehicles to the J.F.K hospital to ensure the mobility of doctors and equipment in Liberia.

· Donation of Dump trucks to the clean up campaign undertaken by the Government of Liberia to keep clean the streets of the city and its surrounding areas.

· Sponsoring of the Liberian National Football team, the Lone Star, in its goal to attain a higher standing in world football.

Future plans

It is and will always be the aim of the company to provide the best and most competent service to its client base.

Future plans include the introduction of new vehicles into the market place, expanding our services to cover the whole country as well as establishing new branches in the West African Sub-region.

The aim as specified is to assume new roles and strengthen existing ones.
