As a successful company in the field of soda products, we aspire to a complete accordance between our actions and our customer requirements - traditional and potential - to know and meet their demands, in order to become their true partners.
At Uzinele Sodice Govora we obtain effectiveness through well documented and controlled processes through the continuous improvement of our products.

| History |
Uzinele Sodice Govora is the biggest field company in Romania and includes two soda ash plants. It was established in 1955 and since 1962 it has been known under the trade mark U.S.G. Manufacturing is based on Ammonia - Soda Ash process. In 1990 it was registered as a joint-stock company.
Since its establishment the unit has recorded the following developments:
In October 1959 Soda Plant No. 2 was commissioned with the production line for soda ash, and in 1960 the line for caustic soda was commissioned.
In 1964 was commissioned the unit for solid and liquid sodium silicate.
In December 1973 Soda Plant No. 3 was commissioned (the line for soda ash) and later, in February 1975 - the line for caustic soda.
In 1978, for the first time in Romania, begun the manufacture of molecular sieves for normal paraffines separation, and in 1985 the molecular sieves for paraxylenes separation.
In 1991 begun the production of sodium sulphide.
In 1991, the traditional product range was enhanced with a new product: detergent. Our first detergent has the brand name of SONEGO. In 1997 a second brand name. ARIS, was launched.
At the start of 1999, U.S.G. began production of dense soda ash by monohydrate process.
Presently both caustic soda plants are closed.

| Advantages of our plant |
The main raw materials: salt and lime stone, are located in the area. Salt is supplied as brine by salt ducts of a length of about 10 km., from the Ocnele Mari-Ocnita deposit. Limestone is supplied by railway from the Pietreni-Bistrita quarry, at a distance of 30 km.
We have direct connections to the main transport ways. Our internal railway has direct access to the national railway system. Regarding the transport by truck, the national road A1 is only 10 km away.
U.S.G. is located in the southern part of Romania, 175 km north-west of Bucharest, at about 500 km from Constanta Port and at 600 km from the farthest border.

The company is organized into two Soda Plants - No.2 and No.3 - and one Detergent Plant.
Management is carried out by the General Manager appointed by the General Assembly of Shareholders, and it establishes the main strategies in all important areas such as finance, trade and marketing, technical aspects, quality, environment and overall corporate strategy. These strategies are carried out by the Executive Managers with the support of all our personnel.

Our corporate policy is formulated to achieve effectiveness in all our actions with a final dedication to our customers. All our strategies are conducted with the main objective, understood as "Quality at Low Cost".

Our investment policy is intended to develop our manufacturing processes in order to improve our product quality, to lower production costs and to enhance environmental protection.

The most important resource in our company is the human resource. Human resources policy is part of the corporate strategy, aiming to excellence and performance. Our personnel consists of 2,200 employees. 80% of them have high and medium qualifications. |
| Marketing and foreign markets |
Our marketing policy is dedicated to fully comply with customer requirements and satisfaction. We struggle to maintain our present markets while we try to conquer new stable markets. At present our exports represent 75% of sales. Our products are sold over 40 countries in Eastern and Western Europe, North and Central Africa, Middle and Far East and South America. Our domestic market share for soda ash is about 68%.

Quality policy is entirely based on customer complete satisfaction. We have documented and implemented the Quality System. At present we have obtained the quality certification ISO 9001 .
