Q-What is Alpha services and when was it established?

A-Alpha Services has been providing international financial services since 1990. It’s a fully-owned subsidiary of one of the partners of Barrow & Williams, hence we’re located in the same building.

Alpha offers off shore incorporation and management., director and share holder services, registered agent and office assistance in opening offshore bank accounts, ship registration and management.

Q- Does the company have expansion plans?

A-The person to answer that is Rodwell Williams, the owner of the company. But I can say the company is growing each year there’s an increase in the amount of work file that is going through so we’re not as small as we were let’s say 5 years ago..

Q-Do you know last year’s growth?

A- Between last year and up to present I would say we have grown about 30%.

Q-What is your principal market share?

A-It’s mainly int’l because we offer mostly Belize IBC incorporation services and Belizeans cannot own a Belize IBC. We do have a few Belizean clients but that’s for incorporation of the IBC’S which we offer.

Q-What is the most demanding service?

A-I’d have to say Belize IBC’S . We also get a few thrusts.

Q-What’s your marketing strategy?

A-We have ads. Running with Belizean as well as int’l companies. We have a few Belizean websites that our Alpha web link is on and we publicise in various int’l and offshore magazines and the New York Sun.

Q- Why should I chose you instead of another off shore company?

A- We get a lot of calls and people say they’re glad to get a real person at the end of the line, because they say they can ask questions and do their business. Instead of hearing a recording. We strive to provide efficient and business-like work to our clients.

Q-Do you have joint ventures with other companies?

A- The owner says he’s not interested. We’ve had several requests but, no.

Q-What do you think that the Belize business needs?

A-To hosts conferences since it has enacted the IBC Act in order to reach more clients. We usually attend off shore conferences in other countries on an annual basis.

Q-If you were the prime minister what would be the first thing you’d change?

A-In the crisis that we are it’s because of the huge deficit. We borrow and borrow to pay back debt and we still owe so that is something we have to work on.

Q-Do you have any fiscal incentive?

A-No, the Belize IBC by law is completely tax free. No Sales Tax no Income Tax, completely tax free.

Q-Do you agree with the GST tax instead of the Sales Tax?

A-I understand that there are steps to take to straighten our economy. Raising taxes ridiculously high is outrageous. Once we apply ourselves there’s a chance to get back the balance.

Q-What’s Alpha’s biggest success?

A-Not related to Alpha itself but for me since being here a year ago as I was handling domestic companies. So I have to say personally, that transition, because now I’m controlling an entire company and making sure we provide quality work and getting clients and companies to channel their work to us.

Q-What is the biggest obstacle?

A- I don’t really have any problems. So far no obstacles.

Q-Do you have a geed relationship with your competition?

A-Yes, we do have a good relationship. Some of us have worked together.

Q-What are the investment opportunities in the country?

A-I have to say tourism. I’ve also seen a lot of investment in real estate in Belize too.

Q- What is your message for the people who want to invest in Belize?
A-Work with us ; we have a lot to offer in various aspects of investments. Like I said especially in tourism, off shore services, real estate. We have very professional people who are willing to assist. So come work with us!

I have been told that the Belizean organization that deals with off shore services in Belize is planning a Belize conference sometime soon and I think everyone should look for it and attend as it will be a first.
