PRODUITS AGRICOLES DE Côte d'Ivoire (P.A.C.I.) is an established cocoa and coffee exporting group based in the Côte d'Ivoire in West Africa.

Cocoa and coffee are the country's two main agricultural crops and rank the country as the #1 (cocoa) and #5 (coffee) producing country worlwide.

International financial bodies have recommanded that these industries are liberalised. This will come into effect as early as october 1998.

P.A.C.I. plans to be ready to capitalize on the synergy created by the opportunity of this new market economy - and the global potential it creates.

COMPANY FORMATION

P.A.C.I. was formed in the early 1990's by the company's founder, and current president Directeur General Mr. Alphonse KOUAME along side a number of other professionals in the coffee and cocoa markets in order to capitalize on their local and international expertise and contacts gained through many decades of experience.

P.A.C.I. is incorporated as a S.A. capitalized by 650 millions CFA (approx. US$ 1,1 millions).

COMPANY OBJECTIVE

The company is seeking a loan of US$1,5 millions to further expand its current resource - cocoa and coffee sales/marketing - to incorporate coffee processing (production) as a synergistic element of ils total business operations.

This enhancement is planned in order to benefit from. strategic government decisions to liberalize both of these important sectors for:
