NATURE AND WILDLIFE
Malanje has numerous parks and forest reserves, two
hydrographical basins – Zaire and Kwanza rivers – and
lagoons in Quipemba, Dombo and Sagia
that offer
excellent conditions for fishing.
The cascades of
Musselenge and the Ilha do Kwan-
za
are particularly suitable for bathing and nautical ac-
tivities. Additional waterfalls are
San Francisco José
and Luino.
Reserva Florestal do Caminho de Ferro de Malanje,
Reserva Florestal Samba-Lucala and Reserva natu-
ral do Luando
will enchant you with valleys and savan-
nah scenery.
From the
Miradouro do Morro da Kabatuquila
in
Quela at 115km of Malanje city, you can enjoy a spec-
tacular view.
Calendula waterfalls
is one of the most touristic place
of Angola. Formerly known as Quedas de Duque de
Bragança, the waterfalls are 105 m high and form an
amazing scenery that cannot be missed. A viewpoint
and a picnic area are available for visitors.
