Wapo Angola Gestão e Serviços Lda has been pre-
sent in Angola since 1998 and provides a wide range
of services to petroleum and petrol-related compa-
nies based in the country. The company took over
from WAPO, which already offered the same type
of services.
Wapo Angola provides a wide range of logistics ser-
vices to companies in the oil and gas sector, as well
as their suppliers. It has a solid infrastructure and
the capability to respond to the outsourcing needs of
clients, helping them to realize economies of scale.
Through a relationship with Universal Sodexho, a
remote site specialist, Wapo Angola has benefited
for over a year from the technical assistance neces-
sary to improve the level of its service delivery and
conformity to HSE standards.
Wapo Angola is involved in the provision of the fol-
lowing services:
Ground-based logistics: rental of light vehicles,
management of public transportation, vehicle
maintenance, management of a service/gas sta-
tion, personnel transportation and fuel provision.
Travel assistance: pick-up and airport greeting,
transfer to/from the airport, hotel reservations and
visa services.
Location management: rental of offices and rooms,
maintenance and supervision of building construc-
tion.
Training employees working in the oil and gas
industry in a fully-equipped training centre situ-
ated in the heart of Luanda. It has an IT centre,
a language laboratory, a conference room and a
number of specialized laboratories for technical
training in mechanics, electricity, instrumentation,
soldering and industrial refrigeration, among oth-
ers. There is also a single and double rooms and a
company restaurant.
Provision of personnel: A provision of personnel
permit allows Wapo to make Angolan or foreign
workers available to its clients in the context of
petroleum-related operations. This activity goes
hand-in-hand with the training described in the
section above.
Wapo Angola is a socially concerned organization. It
collaborates with an orphanage, to which it gives ad-
ministrative support and provides a day care centre.
The company also provides teaching staff and takes
care of the maintenance of the premises.
Wapo Angola has a good reputation among its cli-
ents as well as the companies, both public and pri-
vate, with which it has collaborated in the past.
