ACCESS TO WATER
Despite enormous hydraulic resources, there is a
large discrepancy between the cities across the
country. Only 42% of the population has access to
clean drinking water and only 60% use improved
sanitation facilities. In rural areas, the figures drop
respectively to 23% and 31%. The government
has set up a Water for All programme (Água para
todos) to give access to clean water to 80% of
the rural population by 2012. The establishment
of treatment stations and distribution channels re-
main a priority.

ties of Andaim are mainly focused on the creation of
social infrastructure such as schools, health posts
and houses. In the health sector, Andaim has built
several health centers in various provinces of An-
gola, particularly in the provinces of Zaire (Soyo
and Tomboco municipalities), Bengo, Luanda and
Luanda-Sul.
In the field of education, Andaim has constructed
schools in Malange, Zaire, Luanda, Bengo, Inge,
and Kwanza-Sul. The main objective of Andaim is
to continue to participate in the process of develop-
ment and reconstruction of the country, by creat-
ing schools and health centers in these population
centers where infrastructure does not exist yet.
This way, Andaim helps in the development of the
country; bringing development from the city to the
provinces.
Andaim is working with Banco Africano de Desen-
volvimento (BAD), with the Angolan government
and with the World Bank for the construction of
modern schools of education and health posts.
These partnerships are very valuable for Andaim
in the sense that they help the company grow and
achieve its objectives. Currently Andaim is also
starting activities in Mozambique where the activi-
ties of the company will follow the core business
of the company: focusing on the creation of social
infrastructure such as schools, health posts and
houses.
According to the managing director, the greatest
competitive advantage of Andaim, compared to
its competitors, has been the quality of their work.
In addition, the company has complied with the
contracts with the Angolan government within
the stated deadlines. This has put the company
above average standards. Andaim believes it is an
asset to the country’s reconstruction. Andaim has
