Groups. Teixeira Duarte Group currently has around
13,000 employees operating in 16 countries on 4 conti-
nents and doing business in eight different sectors such
as Construction, Cement, Concrete and Aggregates,
Concessions and Services, Real Estate, Hotel Servic-
es, Distribution, Energy and Automobile.
The mission of the group is to make, contributing to
build a better world. In addition, the group is quoted
on the stock exchange since 1998 and is dominated
by family Teixeira Duarte, a situation that has ensured
great stability, whether in strategy or in business struc-
tures. The future development of the company will be
enhanced by the synergy of different sectors and coun-
tries that Teixeira Duarte has established itself.
Teixeira Duarte began working in Angola in 1951. It
was the first market to which the group expanded its
business beyond Portugal, with works of treatment and
waterproofing of the Biopio dam.
After resuming activity again in the mid 70’s, Teixeira
Duarte followed an activity that expanded to other are-
as, a result of various business opportunities. Currently
the group operates in Angola, in the following business
sectors: Construction, Cement, Concrete and Aggre-
gates, Concessions and Services, Real Estate, Hotel
Services, Distribution and Automobile. Teixeira Duarta
has branches in Luanda, Cabinda, Soyo, Benguela,
Lubango, Huambo and Namíbe. In addition, the group
offers approximately 25% of the hotel capacity in Lu-
anda with the Tropical Hotel, the Alvalade Hotel and the
new hotel Baia which was opened in 2010.
Furthermore, Teixeira Duarte participates in the sector
of food distribution through the cash and carry MAXI,
serving Angolan companies from four locations in Lu-
anda, Viana, Sumbe and Porto Amboim, and contribut-
ing to the stabilization of prices and the improvement of
supply circuits.

TSEAngola began its activities in 1991, as a subsidiary
of TSE Belgium, created in 1988.
The company is specialized in the realization of different
types of turnkey projects:
Construction of buildings: public, industrial or residen-
tial buildings,
Hydraulic and electrical infrastructures,
Roads and embankment,
Procurement of technical equipment like electric gen-
erators.
All the studies are realized in Luanda and the sales
are made through the central purchasing department
in TSE Belgium and supervised by 25 employees who
currently manage 950 workers.
Their main clients are the European Commission and
the World Bank, oil companies, EPAL (Empresa Provin-
cial deAgua de Luanda), INEA, DNA (Direcção Nacion-
al de Agua), ENE, and different provinces (Huambo,
Luanda Sul, Bié, Benguela, Lubango).
The headquarters of TSE Angola are localized in Lu-
anda, where different installations can be found such
as warehouses, workshops, or offices, covering 35.000
square meters.
There are currently installations and a permanent staff
in the cities of Saurimo, Kuito, Huambo and Humbe.
The company is specialized in construction and civil
engineering and has experience in private and indus-
trial projects, workshops and warehouses, offices, resi-
dential complexes, hospitals, schools… TSE has also
a extensive experience in electric infrastructures with
huge projects such as the construction of a thermal
power station with generators, financed by the Angolan
government, rural electrification in the city of Saurimo,
public lights,… Turnkey projects are also realized in the
field of hydraulic infrastructures, with the construction
of dams, water treatment plant, or sewage disposal for
clients such as EPAL or DNA. Since 2002, TSE Angola
has been building roads financed by the EU, mainly in
the south of the country in the provinces of Huila and
Huambo (200km). The company is currently working on
a 90km asphalt road in Cunene, and on a road from
Bailundo to Bimbe in the province of Huambo.
The company is very well-equipped with machinery, ga-
rages, civil engineering vehicles, workshops and ware-
houses. Specific required material can be produced for
a project as the company has a good stock of wood,
aluminum and metallic joineries. TSE Angola has ex-
cellent references in Angola and is the official agent of
famous brands in the technical sector, such as Zwart
Techniek (NL), Anglo Belgian Corporation (Belgium),
Eaton Powerware (USA), AESA (Spain), Dell comput-
ers (USA), or Deloti (Italia).
