sub-holdings which correspond to four business groups:
Soares da Costa Construção SGPS SA, involved in
general contracting work
Soares da Costa Indústria SGPS SA, which is in-
volved in the industrial spheres of construction,
namely in the fields of carpentry, steel erection and
machinery, electrical and mechanical installations, hy-
draulic installations and railway infrastructure
Soares da Costa Concessões SGPS SA , with activi-
ties in the field of concessions of services and public
infrastructure
Soares da Costa Imobiliária SGPS SA, with activities in
the field of real estate development and management.
For Soares da costa, Angola is an important market
within the company’s portfolio. In the Angolan market
the company has a recognised expertise, namely in
the building’s construction, with a reinforced and skilled
production capacity both at the human resources (di-
rect and indirect workers, with a remarkable effort being
done to recruit Angolan workers) and at the equipments
level. In 2010, Angola remained the main foreign mar-
ket for the group and turnover increased with 5,5%.
Over the course of its long history, the Soares da Costa
Group has shown that it is able to adapt to the signs of
the times and respond to them with suitable changes.
The strong technical capability and international market
focus, as well as highly qualified human resources have
been the key to the group’s success.
