Textile Industry
During the last ten years, the Ecuadrorian textile in-
dustry has shown positive indicators that positions
this sector as the second most important within the
manufacturing GDP structure after the food and bev-
erage production industry.
In 2009, the textile industry registered profits of $443
million USD (1.9% of the GDP and 2% less than the
same period of 2008). In spite of this, the industry
has gained a competitive position in product exporta-
tion and registered sales increases of 23.6%.
