HISTORY

Ethiopia has a rich cultural heritage extending over thousands of years, during which notable civilizations have flourished. The first recorded account of the region -- about 4800 years ago during the time of pharaohs in Egypt -- was a hieroglyphic record of commercial expeditions to the region to obtain gold and other natural products.
