Could you please tell us about the history of Geo Globe in Tbilisi for the last years?

Geo Globe was created on the basis of Georgian National Airlines. The shareholders of the company are also members of the board of Georgian National Airlines.

The agency was created in 2005 and is now growing. It concentrates its activities in three main fields: air tickets (agreements with airlines), visa (access to different countries) and development of tourism industry in Georgia.

Could you tell us about some of the Geo Globe key figures? (employees, invested capital)?

We have two operators, one office manager and various managers: one of them is in charge of tourism in Georgia; another one takes care of tourism abroad, and a further one works on all questions related with visas (mainly Geo Globe works with Russian visas now, but in the future, as we will have connections with Europe, we will need a another manager that takes care of European visas)

Our current turnover is around 100,000 $ per month.

We have one main office but in the future we are planning to open another one.

There is a construction “boom” that will have excellent consequences in the tourism sector. This will increase the number of tourist and business people coming to Georgia. In this sense, what are the next projects of your company?

Tourism is just developing now and it is in the interest of our government and our country to have more tourism inflow. Of course we are ready to assume all this, we are ready to welcome every person or country that wishes to visit Georgia. For example, Prague was become the perfect and desired place for honeymooners, well, we are also ready to assume this challenge as a destination for them.

Of course this construction booming that you are mentioning is closely connected to the tourism industry, as our country is being equipped with new bridges, buildings and brand new hotels with internet, Jacuzzi, etc… that would make the tourists want to come here.

Imagine that I am a customer and I am in Tbilisi. Why should I go to Geo Globe and not to any other travel agency?

The main reason is SERVICE. We take care of the clients and provide all service from the start (right since the person gets on board the plane, given that we are partners with Georgian National Airways, something that other agencies cannot provide for) up till the end. So, the main thing is service and, in addition, local tickets, as we work for the two national airlines that operate in Georgia.

In short term, are you looking for new partners?

Of course, for every agency it is always necessary to look for new partners. We indeed have an strategy to achieve this aim. This strategy is based on providing good service. Geo Globe can find the shortest and cheapest way for the traveller to reach their destination, and not every company can or want to do this, as they always try to give you the most expensive route and don’t take care about the customer any more. We in Geo Globle take care about all clients, not just the “rich” ones, but everyone, the occasional customer, the one that only travels once a year, etc. Treat everyone the same way. This is why partners or investors can be attracted to come and contact our company.

Last but not least, during these 9 months managing the agency, what has been your biggest satisfaction at your work?

My biggest satisfaction are my employees, if you don’t work with honest, skilled and hard working people nothing is possible.
