Please tell us about your achievements as Minister of Research and Education.

I took office on December 23. Our thinking is that any functional system – the more so an educational system – must be based on a sound, reliable, predictable and sustainable financial model. By law Romania gives six per cent of the Gross Domestic Product to education. The first measure that I’ve taken it was actually very soon after I took office and it established a new way in which money was allocated to primary schools and colleges.
