Can you give us a historical background of the NPA?

This port was constructed and opens for business approximately in July 1948, it was build during the World War II by the United States government out of its land Lease funds. At that time the port cost almost 20 million dollars. The port had general cargo facilities as well as specialized facilities for the handling of bulk cargo especially iron ore.
