Energy & Mining
has become part of VINCI, creating a major new
player in energy services. With the contribution of
Cegelec (€3 billion in revenue), the new energy
division is representing approximately 21% of VIN-
CI’s overall revenue.
Cegelec has established in Angola in 2001 to com-
ply the agreement on Girasol project led by TOTAL.
Nowadays, the company has integrated other pres-
tigious clients such as Exxon, Chevron or Sonangol
in its portfolio.
Cegelec is an international group that provides ser-
vices to businesses and local authorities. It oper-
ates primarily in four major sectors:
• electrical engineering, climate control and me-
chanical engineering
• automation, instrumentation and control
• information and communication technologies
• maintenance and services
The integration of Cegelec reinforces the network
of the Vinci Group, as for example in Angola, where
Cegelec benefits of stronger recognition than Vinci
Energies. In terms of expertise, Cegelec comple-
ments the Group’s existing presence in the high
potential markets of transport systems, oil and gas
infrastructure and nuclear energy.
Cegelec’s expertise in multi-technical maintenance,
revision engineering and workshop training for spe-
cific jobs is acknowledged in Angola. Although their
main clients are oil and gas operators, the company
is seeking opportunities in other industrial areas.
They are present mainly in Luanda, but having con-
nections with Soyo and all the strategical points
overseas.
Cegelec is supporting its partners to create solid
bases in the Angolan market. Despite the challeng-
ing environment, they are optimistic and believe in
the high potential of the Angolan economy.
“Angolan expansion is a reality that will continue
during the next years, but the country is complex
and it is mandatory to work on long term projects
based on solid platforms.”
