Chicoil Group was founded in 1992 and it is now one
of the most important companies inAngola. The group
works in the areas of industry, commerce, transport,
hotels and tourism and is represented in the provinc-
es of Cuando Cubango, Benguela, Huíla, Cabinda,
Cunene, Lunda Norte, Bié, Huambo and Cuanza Sul
as well as in other countries such as South Africa,
Portugal and Namibia.
Chicoil Group has recently invested about US $5 mil-
lion for the expansion of its activities in the areas of
commerce and sports in central Benguela province
and is also planning to build a shopping centre in the
surroundings of Benguela city. It is expected to serve
over 1,000 customers per day and provide 70 jobs.
The group is growing rapidly and is composed of six
companies involved in a large range of activities such
as public works, health, tourism, transport, import and
export and general trade. Chicoil Group is a very good
example of expansion and business development
and also provides a model for social development as
its projects are an expression of solidarity.
An important target of the group is to facilitate the
development of industry and commerce services in
the Angolan regions, both by preparing community
groups to develop their local businesses and by offer-
ing the opportunity to improve quality of life in those
areas, while expanding their brand into the whole An-
golan territory.
Chicoil can be considered one of the largest interme-
diary goods suppliers in Angola. It has established a
strong base of long-term relations with major world-
wide producers in the product range it is handling,
with high efficiency and capability to supply competi-
tive prices and high quality to its consumers.
