Date of creation: 2003
Movicel has been operating in Angola since 2003
when it was set up as a subsidiary of state telephone
company Angola Telecom. Movicel was partially pri-
vatized in 2010, when the state awarded 80% of its
social capital to a consortium made up of Angolan
companies: Portmil- Investments and Telecom-
munications S.A, Modus Comunicar S.A, Ipangue,
Lambda Investment and Novatel. The remaining 20
percent stayed in hands of the public companies An-
gola Telecom and ENCTA.
Movicel offers mobile telecommunication services
to more than 3 million clients in Angola. The com-
pany provides its telecommunication services over
Movinet and the 91 mobile network, allowing it being
present in 18 provinces of Angola.
In order to be able to provide excellent assistance
to its clients, Movicel has a significant number of
stores and a vast network of authorized agents and
dealers. In addition, the company has a free 24-hour
customer support centre.
The mission of Movicel is to provide mobile telecom-
munication services, as well as related products and
services, ensuring innovation, quality of service and
value to its customers.
The company wants to be considered as a reference
and pioneer operator, always focusing on customer
satisfaction and on the development of the Angolan
society.
Social responsibility is an important part the activities
of Movicel. The company has contributed to the in-
auguration and restructuring of schools countrywide,
with donations of school material and furniture and
the construction of libraries. In addition, besides pro-
jects in the education area, Movicel has promoted
and motivated local culture, sponsoring cultural
events and local artists’ shows.

Date of creation: 1997
MSTelcom was established in 1997 with the objec-
tive of guaranteeing maintaining and operating in an
efficient manner the communications of the Sonan-
gol Group.
In 2003 the company was licensed as a fixed tel-
ecommmunications’ operator - one of four in the
country - and since then MSTelcom has been provid-
ing fixed telephony services to Sonangol Group and
other companies.
