SONATRO
PUBLIC COMPANY OF GREAT ROAD WORKS
 INTRODUCTION |
Created in 1968 in view to realize road works and seminaries, the SONATRO has remarkably developed in the 197's and in 1983 it has giver birth to five companies: four (04) road works and one (01) building companies.
From this date, SONATRO has specialized in the Making of roads, highways and airdromes. Many large projects have been yet realized such as airdromes of Illizi and Djanet, the East Highway, the IV diverting road and so on…
Endowed with management autonomy since 1991 and in spire of unfavorable conjuncture and environment, SONATRO has till proceeded it's way realizing quality great projects that make it a leading public partner in the public works field.
| MAINTENANCE |
The maintenance substructures at the disposal of SONATRO are very efficient; the core of which is the maintenance unit of Reghaia. With it's various workshops, like tooling shop, milling shop… It is detaining a major part in the range of works execution. Its satellite workshops near the project building sites ensure a rapid upkeep and restoration on the spot.
Intervention teams move also about the building sites for materials and production, reparation, carrying-up and off inspection.
| THE LABORATORY |
For technical assistance, SONATRO disposes of a Central Laboratory and a Research Office.
The Central Laboratory located at Reghaia ensures, with other mini laboratories on the building sites, a quality control.
The Research Office with a staff engineers and skilled technicians is in charge of a complementary technical surveys and proposes alternatives for an optimal and efficient execution of the projects.

The total of the woks projected for 1996 is estimated to CIRCA 10 billions Algerian dinars.
SONATRO is present everywhere over the national territory. Its main building sites are:
• Realization of the airdrome of Laghouat (with concrete)
• Realization of the airdrome of Bechar (extremities of the tarmac)
• Realization of the airdrome of Ouargla
• Realization of a road at Djanet (60-km)
• Realization of the East-West Highway at Bouira, Algiers and Blida
• Realization of the National Road n° 12, 30 and at Tizi-Ouzou
• Restoration of El-Oued airdrome
• Restoration of Tamanrasset airdrome
• Maintenance of the National Road n° 1: Moulay Lahcene and Tamanrasset
• Realization of the National Road n° 47 at Setif
• Reinforcement of National Road n° 46 at Biskra
| EXPORT ACTIVITY |
SONATRO has realized, in association with a local firm, the tarmac works of the Koffra airdrome in Libya.
Other contracts are being made for eventual deals in the limitroph countries.
