Hitachi Construction Machinery Zambia Co. Ltd. is
the official supplier of Hitachi construction and min-
ing equipment in Zambia. The company has exten-
sive coverage within Zambia.
The company was started in 2010 and is a subsid-
iary company of Hitachi Construction Machinery Af-
rica Co. Ltd. The investment was to build a reman-
ufacturing facility in Lusaka, which would support
the region with remanufactured components of the
same quality and standards as new components.
The strategic decision by Hitachi to invest in Zam-
bia was made with a larger view of supporting Hita-
chi equipment in sub-Saharan Africa. Plans are un-
derway to expand operations beyond the borders
of Zambia, and the first steps have been taken with
cross trades to neighboring Mozambique. In addi-
tion, HCMZ is supported by the extensive global
Hitachi network.
