Spain: Report 2005

The current relations between Spain and the United States call for a strong positive message.

Over the last 6 years, the Spanish economy has grown at an average of 3.4% each year, at least 1% above the European average.
The economy continues to evolve into a service-based economy, with services now accounting for 68% of the GDP. The number of workers employed in Spain’s service centers is expected to increase by 66% to 15,000 people by the end of 2005. With particularly large amounts of investment going towards R&D, foreign companies are discovering newly established Spanish enterprises with a high scientific level.

The original New York Sun, noted for its high journalistic and literary standards, began publication in 1833 and prospered until 1950 when it closed its doors. In 2001, The New York Sun was resurrected by Seth Lipsky, former senior editor of The Wall Street Journal, and today it has reached a readership of close to 250.000 mostly in New York City – with a high concentration in Manhattan and Wall Street. It is also distributed in Washington to the most influential political buildings and districts, as well as to international institutions. The New York Sun’s partnership with Bloomberg has created one of the most relevant daily stock table analysis in Wall Street.

We are confident that this Special Report will bring awareness about what Spain is today, educating our readers about the opportunities offered by the various sectors of the Spanish economy.
